In 1960, wealthy newspaper magnate, Victor, is the owner and sole
customer of a Parisian Cafe - The Grand Boeuf. On this particular
day, the staff of the Grand Boeuf has gathered and eagerly awaits
"The Monsieur" and his love "The Mademoiselle". But when Victor
arrives, he arrives alone, and soon announces to the staff that he is
going to forgo the meal, and kill himself by slowly starving himself
to death.

And yes, it's a comedy!

The cast consists of 4 men and 2 women, and, with one exception, can
be played across a fairly broad age range.

The Monsieur (Victor) - 30s - 50s. Wealthy Newspaper Magnate with an
unhealthy obsession of Ernest Hemingway.
The Maitre'D (Claude) - 30s - 50s. His one purpose in life is to
serve Monsieur - much to the chagrin of his wife, Mimi. Has an
unhealthy
obsession with the waiter-in-training, Antoine.
The Waitress (Mimi) - 20s - 50s. Desperate for attention, passion,
and romance, she dreams of having the life of Jacqueline Kennedy.
The Chef (Gaston) - 20s - 50s. Proud to call himself the best chef
money can buy, he secretly obsesses over Mimi.
The Waiter-in-Training (Antoine) - early 20s. Plucked off the street
as a last minute replacement, he is hired because he knows how to
play an instrument - the tuba - poorly.
The Mademoiselle (Miss Berger) - 30s - 50s. Exactly why DID she
leave Victor at the bullfights in Madrid. She is a faded beauty -
mysterious.

This is a wonderful, sweet, funny, charming, sad show. I am very
proud that we will be presenting it to you, and certainly hope that
you can come out to make the audition.

Show dates will be October 12-14 & 19-21.
