Leads:

1) Ben - 16 years old, male, average looks, average/skinny build, short black hair

Ben is a teen that has begun to distance himself from the world. He is intelligent enough to question some parts of life that go unexamined by the majority. Although, we can presume he has a lot to say, his
uneasy family life has conditioned him to be a shy introvert. Ben has been forced to leave the little solace he has in his home, and set out alone in the cold, uncaring world.

His innocence spares him from becoming Alex's next victim and, instead, instills in her a fondness for him. With Alex, he is gladly takes a submissive role. Although, he will do anything to help Alex in her
exploits, he sometimes finds them more than he can handle. It is in these moments that he has to escape into his mind and distance himself from the less than ideal life that has become his unfortunate reality.

Ben's mind can be a mystery at times but we are afforded occasional glimpses his into psyche by periodically peering into his surreal dreams.

2) Alex - 30 years old, female, attractive, average/fit build, physicality must allow character to play younger version of self

Alex is fiercely independent and deceitfully capable. She has taken care of herself since her family disowned her at age 15. It was at this age that a then-pregnant Alex was stabbed in the stomach by her
boyfriend causing her unborn baby's death. Since this episode, she has developed a deep distrust of men. She survives by using her looks to seduce men in order to kill them and take their money. In this way, she feels, she is able to maintain power over the gender. By killing men she seduces, she's not only earning money, she's also taking revenge.

Her ideas about men are never challenged until she meets Ben. Originally picked to be her next victim, Ben is spared by Alex because of his innocence. Ben shows Alex that not all men are the same. Ben ignites a sort of maternal instinct in Alex, giving her someone other than herself to care for, for the first time. They develop a bond of co-dependency; she helps Ben to survive and he offers her the first true
companionship she's ever had.

Supporting:

Ben's Mom - Late 30's, female, attractive but visibly aging, average/fit build

Ben's mom is a less than ideal mother. She has a vile personality, which often dominates those of her husband and son. A housewife on the verge of a mid-life crisis, she is bitter and dissatisfied with
life, asking herself, "is this it?" Knowing the depressing answer, she turns to alcohol to drown life's disappointments.

Apart from her alcoholism, all she has are memories of her glory days in high school, when her beauty and popularity peaked. She had aspirations of becoming an actress and gaining fame and fortune but an inopportune pregnancy with Ben put an end to her delusions. She harbors a secret resentment towards Ben, causing a rift between the two.

She and her husband were high school sweethearts who were never able to move on. Ben came along and sealed the deal. The flame in their relationship has long been extinguished. Ben's mom has never worked to support herself or her family and knows no way to survive other than to depend on others. For most of her life she as had everything handed to her because of her looks, but she is now breaking down emotionally as she has come to the slow realization that her beauty is inexorably fading.

Ben's Dad - Early 40's, male, average looks, average build

Of Ben's parents, he shares a closer relationship with his father. He and his wife have an unhappy marriage. He has a submissive personality. He supports the family and tries to keep the peace between everyone. He is a union worker and, therefore, suffers occasional lay-offs. Ben's father has gotten used to being constantly berated by his wife for his inadequacies. Because of his mundane home life, he has
looked for some type of outlet and source of excitement. He finds his outlet in gambling and has since developed an addiction. His addiction indirectly leads to the events causing his death.

Claude - Early 40's, male, good looks, muscular build

Claude is a rival of Ben's father from high school. They both played sports where there was frequent competition between star players. Claude was a bully to many kids, while Ben's father would try to stand up for Claude's victims when he could. He became a police officer so that he could have authority over other people. He's somewhat of a crooked cop and uses his authority to torment some of the same people he did from high school.

Ron - Late 30's, male, handsome looks, athletic build

Ron is a volatile personality. He knows no moderation, be it alcohol, drugs, or women. He has been intermittently treated for manic depression, personality disorders, alcoholism, and schizophrenia.
Much of his problems can be attributed to his unlikely history.

The baby of his family, he quickly developed the idea that he could do no wrong. He also developed an outgoing personality early on, which spurred his development as a social animal. A natural athlete, his
talent for baseball was soon recognized and he became the high school's star pitcher. After leading his town to an unheard of 3 consecutive class AA state championships, a small town that prided itself on its
high school baseball team, he was lauded as a hometown hero. With his outgoing personality, and his great athletic skill, he had all the makings of future sports superstar. It seemed certain to every one in
his town, and to Ron himself, that he was destined for greatness.

Everyone had even more reason to believe Ron was on his way to the major leagues when he was signed to his first minor league team. Ron's dreams were cut short, however, when he suffered a shoulder injury in his first season in the minors. He was never again able to reach the skills of his former self. The major leagues were no longer an option and he was soon dropped from the minor league. As quickly as it had started, his career had ended; with it, ended the hopes of a small town and, eventually, Ron's sanity. After his baseball career ended, his life quickly went on a downwards spiral. He suffered a hard depression and developed alcoholism.

He lives with his wife, who takes care of him by making sure he takes all of the medicines required to keep his sanity. With the support of his wife, Ron took financial control over a used car dealership. Ron
and his wife live in his home town, where he's managed a moderate amount of financial success in his business based off his quasi-celebrity status.

Although his mental health has improved in recent years, he still maintains some of his old habits. Most noticeably a strong appetite for alcohol and an addiction to steroids.

Ron's Wife - Late 30's, female, average looks, average build

Ron and his wife do not have a romantic relationship. She manages his money and makes sure he takes his medication. She stays with Ron for his earning potential and their child. She works nights as a nurse and generally ignores Ron's indiscretions. She knows that he occasionally picks up women from bars but, because there is no longer any love between them, she doesn't feel it's worth her trouble to do anything about it.

Ron's Son - 6 years old, male, average look, small size

Ron's son is an only child. He is the focus of Ron's love. He has autism.

Salesman - Late 20's, male, average looks, overweight.  The salesman is a traveling salesman who sells exotic meats. The salesman uses time spent traveling as an opportunity to secretly cheat on his wife. Because of his traveling, he makes a game of lying to women about his profession. He commonly poses as either a lawyer or stock broker depending on his mood. He tells the same story to anyone who will listen about an incident that happened to him about 5 years ago. The story is further exaggerated in each subsequent retelling.

Alex's First Boyfriend - 20 years old, male, muscular build

He was a star football player of losing high school team. He got a scholarship to a community college but was expelled for violating the dorms' alcohol policy.

Realtor - Mid 40's, male, graying hair, lanky Has a slight foreign accent and is somewhat condescending.
