Tennessee Rep Auditions

Tennessee Rep announces open call auditions for the 2008-2009 season. 

Auditions will be held Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13 at Nashville Children's Theatre (25 Middleton Street, Nashville, TN 37210) from 1pm to 9pm each day.

Auditions are by appointment only. To secure an audition please email Tennessee Rep's company stage manager, David Wilkerson, at davidw@tennesseerep.org. In your email, indicate which day (May 12 or May 13) you would prefer to audition and any conflicts you have for that day (e.g. "I can't audition before 3pm" or "I need to be done before 6pm" etc.). David will send back a confirmation email with your audition time. Please plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to your reserved time. If you do not have email access, you may request an audition time by leaving a message at (615) 349-3217. However, please note that you will receive your audition slot more quickly if you send your request via email.

For your audition, we would like to see two (2) contrasting monologues totaling no more than three (3) minutes. If you would like to be considered for Sweeney Todd, also prepare 16 bars of a 
song (does not count toward your three-minute time limit)—remember to bring sheet music for your song (an accompanist will be provided). No recorded accompaniment will be permitted. Please bring a headshot/resume with you to the audition.

Callbacks for specific Tennessee Rep productions will be scheduled later in the year. No dancing will be required at this audition. Roles are for adult, professional actors, Equity or non-Equity—there are no characters in this season's shows under the age of 17. 

Please note that rehearsals are held during daylight hours and that Tennessee Rep is seeking local performers, as no housing is available.

From I-40-E: 
Take the Second Ave/Fourth Ave Exit. At the bottom of the ramp, drive STRAIGHT to your second traffic light. At that light, turn LEFT onto Second Ave. Follow Second Ave. to Lindsley Ave. and take a RIGHT. Turn LEFT into NCT's parking lot entrance.

From I-40-W: 
Take the Second Ave/Fourth Ave Exit. At the bottom of the ramp, there is a traffic light - turn RIGHT onto Second Ave. Follow Second Ave. to Lindsley Ave. and take a RIGHT. Turn LEFT into NCT's parking lot entrance.
