Auditions for film CATAWAMPUS

A fast paced, no budget thriller about a working man who attempts to murder his wife for infidelity. Soon, he is consumed with feelings of guilt and paranoia. Marvin then enters an emotional labyrinth of pain and frustration with only his weaknesses to guide him. 

CATAWAMPUS is holding auditions during the week of April 13-19, 2008. Catawampus will be made with the intention of playing at film festivals around the country and the goal of theatrical or straight to DVD distribution. TYPEWRITER PRODUCTIONS' previous feature, THE SOUND OF VICTORY, played at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in March.

Production will begin in late May and last 10 - 12 days. The film will be shot mostly in Columbia, Missouri with two days of shooting in Sullivan, Missouri.  Auditions and rehearsals will be in Columbia, Missouri.

Actors will NOT be paid for their work. No union members. Actors will receive free meals and copies of the film after post-production is completed.

(*) indicates that the actor will be required to perform a sex scene. This is not a dirty movie or an exploitation film. None of the sex will be graphic or "late night Cinemax-ish." The sex will be shot in a tasteful manner with only one actor on screen at a time.

Marvin: (30's) Insecure, mild mannered working man who loses himself to his darker feelings. Character will be required to smoke in a few scenes. (*) 

Anne: (30's) Wife of Marvin. Attractive. Guiltless and cold. (*) 

Sam: (late 20's, early 30's) Brother of Marvin. Attractive womanizer. Charismatic but mean and sadistic. (*) 

Emily: (late 20's, early 30's) Wife of Sam. Very attractive but weak and insecure. The "anything for my man" type. (*) 

Cowboy: (40's) A rough and tumble John Wayne type plagued with guilt over a past murder.

Doctor Biggsbee: (40's)

Doctor Sherburt: (40's)

Detective Gail: (40's) Police detective. Tough and butch. Mean and nasty. Bad cop.

Detective Hammersmith: (40's) Police detective. Gail's partner. Polite but serious. Good cop.

There is also a crew call for the film. Crew members will NOT be paid. No union members. Crew will receive free meals and copies of the film after post-production is completed.
