Seeking St. Louis actors for local film
Table Wrangler Productions and Anodyne Pictures are seeking actors for a short film to be shot over a single weekend in May. The script, "Just Friends", features two characters--Brad and Mandy.
Brad, a clean-cut quiet guy in his late twenties, possibly very early thirties, is pretty average in most respects. Sensitive and caring, his greatest obstacle in life is his own inability to act. He is better than
average looking, smart, and friendly, but he can never get a woman to see him outside of the friend zone.
Mandy, a late twenties girl-next-door with a flirty streak, spends most of her time manipulating the people around her and deceiving herself. She loves Brad, but the thought of real love scares her more than anything in the world, so she keeps him at arm's length. All the while taunting him, teasing him, and depending on him.
The bulk of the action takes place in a single night in one location. The action comes from the storm of emotions unleashed in a few ill-fated moments. The story challenges the actors to layer their performances and create conflicting emotions in the audience. The script contains adult themes and requires actors interested in exploring dark areas.
The most important thing the producers are seeking is an ability to play a range of emotions and daring.
Interested actors should send headshots, resumes, and contact information to stlbobby@sbcglobal.net. Auditions will be by appointment and scheduled for
late April.
The standard no-budget terms apply. This is a work intended for festivals and there is no pay. Everyone involved will receive proper credit and a DVD when it is completed. Meals will be provided and everyone should have fun. The piece is also an opportunity for a pair of talented actors to really show off their acting skills in a collaborative creative environment.
