Union Actors now eligible to participate in Film Challenge

Shakespeare Festival St. Louis is pleased to announce their
partnership with the Screen Actors Guild for the Shakespeare in 7: The
2009 Bard Film Challenge. With this partnership, novice and
professional filmmakers alike have the opportunity to work with
professional, union actors (SAG/AFTRA/AEA). CLICK HERE to find out more!
WHAT:
Shakespeare Festival St. Louis to host Shakespeare in 7 – The 2009
Bard Film Challenge.
This spring, Shakespeare Festival St. Louis will host a film
competition. Teams of 7 will participate in a lottery drawing for a 7
minute Shakespeare scene. Teams will have a total of 49 hours to
rehearse, shoot, edit and submit their projects. A panel of recognized
professionals in the St. Louis theatre and film industries will judge
all eligible entries. The finalists' films will appear on the SFSTL
website. Finalists will be announced on Shakespeare's birthday (April
23rd) and top prize winners will be announced at the theatrical
viewing later this spring. All finalists will be honored with a
special party on June 1, 2009 at the Shakespeare Festival in Forest
Park.

WHEN:

Kickoff and Scene Lottery Drawing on Friday, April 3rd at 8:00PM
(On-site Registration at the Kickoff location from 5:30PM – 7:30PM)
Film submissions due by Sunday, April 5th at 9:00PM at the drop-off
location
(You may begin dropping off submissions as early as 5:00pm that day)
KICKOFF / DROP-OFF LOCATION:
Starbucks Coffee located at 7645 Wydown Blvd.
(On the corner of Hanley and Wydown in Clayton)
WHY:
To offer St. Louis filmmakers another event to showcase their skills
and to bring the St. Louis theatre and film communities closer
together. It is our hope that this event will open up new doors of
opportunity to both stage and screen communities while creating a
deeper appreciation for the bard and his works.
REGISTRATION:
Pre-registration is $35 per team
(Pre-registration closes March 20, 2009)
On-site registration is $50 per team
