Actors needed
Joan Lipkin is Looking for Actors
Joan Lipkin is looking for 2-3 female actors and 1-2 male actors to provide narration and/or perform a few monologues for our "Becoming Emily" dance theatre project about the life of Emily Lyons, a nurse who was badly injured when the clinic at which she was working was bombed by Eric Rudolph.
Two narrators: one female and one male, will probably read from the script at the performance and the actors doing the monologues will need to memorize them. The monologues are written by clients or their family members or boy/girlfriends as they wait at a clinic.
Everyone will need to be available to come to selected Sunday afternoon rehearsals between 2-5 in the CWE as we continue to develop the material with choreographers and dancers.
We are looking at two potential showings of our work in progress. While we are still determining scheduling and final space availability, one will probably be on Sunday March 15 in the afternoon and the other Thursday, May 7 in the evening. The final fuller performance will probably be on Sunday June 14.
All actors will be paid. Please send a resume or paragraph indicating your interest and experience to aparna-uppityco@
