Actors needed for Medical School Patient Program
Washington University School of Medicine is seeking women and men of
all races, who can play roles ages 35-55 for its Standardized Patient
Program. These are paid, as needed positions where the actors work a
flexible schedule during the hours of 12pm-5pm (Sometimes later-with
notice) SPs can expect around 3-7 hours a month. Sessions are year
around; a light lunch/dinner and parking are also provided.
Standardized Patients are cast for many different and varied medical
cases based on age, gender, availability and past medical history.
Standardized Patients (SPs) play a special role in the education of
medical students. By using SPs in the educational process, we strive
to give the students a safe and supportive atmosphere in which to
learn the interactive skills they will need as a physician. As an SP,
you are contributing to the education of future physicians and health
professionals.
The pay scale is as follows:
-Training session $15/hour
-History alone: $15/hour dinner (dress in street clothes no physical
contact)
-History and limited physical: $20/hour. (Dress in a hospital gown,
basic physical contact from student. For example the student will
check your pulse, blood pressure, reflexes)
