Local independent film casting

SYNOPSIS: A police procedural thriller that tells the story of two FBI agents tracking down a killer who is targeting U.S. war profiteers as his MO. A timely mystery story that explores moral and ethical uncertainties in times of war. It is inspired by the Dostoyevsky novel "The Brothers Karamazov" particularly the chapter on the Grand Inquisitor.

ROLES AVAILABLE (WE WILL OFFER COPY AND CREDIT): 

Two (2) Males- (FBI agents, 1-Mid-late 50s, 1 Mid-late 40s);

JONATHAN MAXWELL- FBI agent. He is the older of the pair of agents. (Mid-late 50s). Has a stable family life, still married, with children, grandchildren. Used to be a hippie in late 1960s. outgrew it, now part of the system, but has latent sympathies.

PHILLIP ZOLLER- FBI agent. He is the younger of the pair. (Mid-late 40s) Has a daughter who is on duty in Iraq. Phillip plays things very by the book and is a stickler for the rules. While he looks up to his older, more experienced partner he does not agree with his partner's liberal sympathies. Considers himself to be a borderline neoconservative.

One (1) Male- (Government official, late 20s-early 30s)

LUCIEN ARCHER- Government employee hired to aid the two FBI agents. (Late 20s-early 30s). Wants to do his best to help the case. Lucien's personality is layered (i.e. light over dark. light is the surface that occults the dark). In his world, there is no good and evil, only moral certitude. His lighter shade appears harmless, and helpful to the agents; but it really occults his true self, a confident, calculated and cunning ubermensch. 

One (1) Male- (Leader of Government cabal, Late 50s-early 60s)

RICHARD SVENGAL- Senior partner of government cabal. (Late 50s-early 60s). He is a very powerful man who has long since lost his scruples. He is one of the main government officials who is engaged in war profiteering and as such is a target for the serial killer. His life experiences have caused him to care for little but himself.

One (1) Female- (Lucien's superior, mid-late 40s)

HERA DANVERS- A very powerful government worker who is Lucien's superior. (Late 40s- early 50s). A woman who is not afraid to utilize her power; she also acts as a mentor to Lucien. It's never made clear the extent of familiarity between Hera and Lucien; it's open to interpretation. She is very cunning and seductive, using her personality and intelligence to get far within the government.

One (1) Female- Eurydice: (Lucien's fiancee, mid-late 20s)

EURYDICE (Name Subject to Change)- Lucien's fiancee and closest friend. (Mid to late 20s). She is a troubled young woman who has lost her way. She has a B.A. in social Work and wants to get a Master's so she can be an executive director of an Art Therapy clinic. Her school career has been put on hold so she can spend time with Lucien and prepare to move to a city that hold more opportunities for them. Sine her life has not gone exactly the way she had planned she has grown somewhat depressed and is on prescription anti-depressants.

WE'LL ALSO BE LOOKING FOR ACTORS TO PLAY SMALLER SUPPORTING PARTS LIKE THE FBI AGENT'S HANDLER, VICTIMS OF THE KILLER. WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR ACTORS TO PLAY EXTRAS IN THE FILM.

Actual rehearsals for the film will be held from May 9th- May 21st  on weekdays, weekends which have yet to be decided. Rehearsal dates will be dependent upon the availability of the cast/crew.

This is a non-union/non-paying shoot but it will offer the great experience of working with a young NYU student filmmaker and a devoted film crew that already has one feature length film (The Disk: Code Zero) under its belt along with numerous other student film productions in New York and St. Louis.
