Auditions for THE PRODUCERS

SWIC TO HOLD AUDITIONS FOR MUSICAL "THE PRODUCERS" MAY 26-27

You could help make the Metro East debut of Mel Brooks' popular
musical "The Producers" a hit for audiences this summer!
Southwestern Illinois College will hold auditions at 7 p.m., Tuesday,
May 26 and Wednesday, May 27 in the Belleville Campus Theatre, 2500
Carlyle Ave. Students and community members are welcome to audition.
Individuals should prepare 16 bars of music and be prepared for cold
readings from the script.
The stage musical is based on Brooks' 1968 film. The silver screen
version featured Zero Mostel as Max Bialystock and Gene Wilder as Leo
Bloom, producers who make money by producing a sure-fire theatrical
flop. Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick reprised the roles on Broadway
and on film more recently.
Performances will be Friday through Sunday, July 17-19 and Friday
through Sunday, July 24-26. The play is presented through special
arrangement with Music Theatre International.
