Auditions for Windsor Theatre Group

Windsor Theatre Group is holding auditions on Saturday, June 6, at the Playhouse at Westport Plaza (635 Westport Plaza, St. Louis 63146) from 12 noon until 4 pm 

Performances of the musical melodrama will be at the Playhouse at Westport Plaza July 8th through July 26th, with a possible extension through August 2nd.  Performance times are Wednesday through Friday, 7:30 pm; Saturday, 3 pm and 7:30 pm; and Sunday, 2 pm.  Rehearsals will be during evenings and weekends. 

As with most old-fashioned melodramas, the dialogue must be spoken with absolute sincerity, but with greater emphasis than plays of today; gestures must be sweeping and broad. 

There are parts for five women and three men; all characters will sing; the role of the villain has been cast.

Female parts: 

Bessie - the heroine - age range 19 to 24 

Twilight Romaine - daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Romaine - age range 19 to 24 

Mrs. Patience Romaine - Twilight's mother - age range 40 to 50 

Mrs. Jessie James - Bessie's adopted mother - age range 45 to 55 

Maid/cook - age range 20 to 45

Male parts: 

Charles - the butler - age range 35 to 45 

Worthington Romaine - the young romantic hero - age range 24 to 34 

Clayborne Romaine - Twilight's father - age range 40 to 50 

All roles are open to both Equity and non-Equity performers.  Be prepared with 16 bars of your choice of music, preferably Broadway, and a monologue that can be one to two minutes. There will be cold readings from the script.  

Bring music in your key, an accompanist will be provided  Bring one resume and headshot. At the audition, you will be required to provide a list of any conflicts for rehearsal dates.
