Shakespeare Festival St. Louis 2011 Education Tour Auditions

Shakespeare Festival St. Louis seeks five (5) full-time salaried positions for its 2011 Education Tour Ensemble. Casting a racially diverse and versatile company to perform two 50-minute productions: "Shrew in a Few!" (adapted from "The Taming of the Shrew") and "Cruel to be Kind?" (a new original play commissioned by SFSTL). One (1) Equity and four (4) non-Equity contracts (with optional Equity Membership Candidate points) are available.
AUDITIONS: Thurs., Sept. 23, 2PM - 7PM and Sat., Sept. 25, 1PM - 5PM
CALLBACKS: Sun., Sept. 26, 7PM – 10PM and Mon., Sept. 27, 6PM – 9PM (if needed)
WHERE: Union Avenue Christian Church, 733 Union Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108 (One block north of Delmar on Union. Park and enter in rear.)
PREP: Please prepare two (2) brief, contrasting, Shakespeare monologues totaling no more than three (3) minutes, and bring two (2) copies of your headshot and résumé. Substantial experience teaching young people is desirable.
WHAT: 21-week, salaried contracts, January 24 – June 19, 2011.
WHO: Equity and non-Equity actors who sing, move well and have facility with verse for touring full time during the day; some evenings and weekends.
CONTRACT: Special Agreement based on an Equity Theatre for Young Audiences contract. Equity Membership Points are available for non-Equity cast.
WEEKLY HOURS: Tour runs 2/17 – 5/22/11; mostly day trips to area schools, Monday - Friday. There are some weekend and evening performances, and possible overnights at out-state venues. Starting 5/23/11, schedule shifts to Wednesday through Monday evenings, for the Festival Green Show.
Callbacks will consist of one-half hour interviews conducted Sun., Sept. 26 from 7–10PM and Mon., Sept. 27 from 6–9PM (if needed). Be prepared to provide three (3) employment references at callbacks.
