Student Professional Development for the Serious Acting Student

at Bridget Brown, Stages Academy in Chesterfield, MO

This acting curriculum is for students who are serious about acting and have come to the conclusion that the answer to the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” is “an actor!” This class begins the process of teaching students a technique of acting normally taught in college and professional studios in New York and LA, preparing the teen student for college or professional classes. The class not only teaches the basics of acting, but instills the discipline, and commitment required by professional actors as students are required to work with fellow classmates and to complete homework assignments every week. While students need not have previous acting experience, they must have a passion for acting and a desire and commitment to work hard at it. Admission is by teacher interview only. Interviews will take place the first week of January. Student MUST be 13 years old when class begins.

Bridget Brown is a professional actress, teacher and director who has appeared in Off-Broadway and Regional productions and soap operas and has written and performed one woman shows in New York. She studied acting with William Esper, whose students include Oscar, Emmy and Tony award winners. And, of course, Bridget. As a teacher, Bridget brings her passion for the art and craft of acting as well as the knowledge of her mentor. Her goal is to see that all of her students who are serious about acting be as prepared for college auditions and professional situations as possible.
