Each actor will be cast in ALL THREE adaptations. Fall Shakespeare Squadron members are not required to audition, but may if they wish to show the instructors a different side of their acting or growth since December.

What to Bring: A memorized, short (20 lines or less) Shakespeare monologue, in verse or Shakespeare sonnet. We may ask you to cold read. NOTE: Fall Shakespeare Squadron members who wish to be seen at auditions must prepare a new piece, not the one we worked on in class.

Please bring a list of any CONFLICT DATES (standardized tests, school activities, planned vacations, college visits, etc.) you may have planned for the spring semester.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Participation in this workshop requires an assured commitment of time and energy. Rehearsals are required and work on the pieces should be a priority during the program. Consistent attendance and outside preparation must be coordinated as a priority along with other school activities, sports, school plays and family events.

Rehearsal and Performance Schedule: Thursdays 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays 1-4pm, from February 24 - April 2, 2011. Tech Week schedule: April 4, 5, 6, and 7, from 5:30-9:30pm. Performance schedule: April 8, 9 and 10, 2011.

Details: “Three-Piece Shakes Suite” will be an evening of theater featuring three 30-minute Shakespeare adaptations, each with a full cast. The Spring Performance Workshop will build on the work done in the fall, with the Squadron members applying their skills and acting techniques to a rehearsal and performance project.
