An Introduction to Fitzmaurice Voicework®
A Weekend Workshop at Webster University
Led by Erika Bailey and Julie Foh, Certified Associate Teachers

Expand your vocal possibilities and find greater connection and freedom in your work through explorations of body and breath.

This workshop will introduce you to fundamental elements of Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Through the energized release of destructuring, we will explore how the flow of energy, breath, and vibration can lead to greater freedom in work with text. Through the gentle support provided by restructuring, we will explore how structure can enhance that freedom.

This workshop is for actors, singers, public speakers, and everyone else who is curious about developing their voices.

Julie Foh teaches voice and speech at Webster University in St Louis. She received her MFA in Voice from the American Repertory Theater’s Institute for Advanced Theater Training. At the A.R.T., she coached the premieres of Charles Mee’s play Cardenio and of Ellen McLaughlin’s play Ajax in Iraq. Other coaching credits include Equus (HotCity Theatre); King John (Actors Shakespeare Project); The Little Tragedies (I.A.T.T. and the Moscow Art Theatre). She has taught at the American Repertory Theater, Harvard University, the Moscow Art Theatre School, and the Heifetz International Music Institute. She is an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®.

Erika Bailey teaches vocal production, text, speech, and dialects for the MFA program at University of Missouri, Kansas City. Among her projects as a dialect coach, Professor Bailey has coached Syringa Tree, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Bus Stop with Kansas City Repertory Theatre, and A Christmas Carol with Princeton, New Jersey's McCarter Theatre. Professor Bailey also served as dialect coach on the Broadway production of Mary Stuart. She received a BA in Theatre from Williams College, and an MA in
Voice Studies from Central School of Speech and Drama. She is an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®.
