R-S Theatrics Announces General Auditions for the 2018 Season

As always, and for the life of the company, we seek to cast all productions with a diverse group of performers who accurately reflect the world in which we live while respecting the character breakdowns set forth by the playwrights.

Our 2018 Season includes:

The Light in the Piazza with music and lyrics by Adam Guettel and book by Craig Lucas, running August 10-26, 2018

* Margaret Johnson, soprano, 40s-60s- An elegant, self-possessed, practical and attractive American woman in middle age * Clara Johnson, soprano, 26 – Margaret’s daughter, young and naive for her age * Fabrizio Naccarelli, tenor, 20 – good-looking and charming Florentine * Guiseppe Naccarelli, baritone/tenor, 20s-30s – Fabrizio’s slightly older brother * Franca Naccarelli, soprano, 20s-30s – Guiseppe’s wife * Signor Naccarelli, baritone, 40s-60s – Fabrizio’s father * Signora Naccarelli, soprano, 40s-60s – Fabrizio’s mother * Roy Johnson, baritone/tenor, 40s-60s – Margaret’s husband (may double as ensemble member) * Ensemble of 4 women and 4 men – (will include Tour Guide and Priest)

Perfect Arrangement by Topher Payne, running December 7-23, 2018

* Bob Martindale, 30s-40s – A WWII veteran, reserved. A bit bookish, but a solid man’s man. Good-humored and well-mannered. * Milliie Martindale, late 20s-30s – Bob’s wife. Plays “the ditzy wife” when people are in the house, but actually very quick-witted and observant. Smart enough to maintain the act. * Norma Baxter, 30s – The knowing, efficient, classy dame. A secretary at the State Department who could just as easily be Secretary of State. A wise woman who’s great with a wisecrack and level-headed in a bind. * Jim Baxter, late 20s-late 30s- Norma’s husband. A prankster type, always ready with a comeback. A high school teacher with lots of energy. A little weird, good with a plan. * Theodore Sunderson, 40s-50s – The boss. Bombastic, loud, a bit overbearing. A patriotic widbag. * Kitty Sunderson, 40s – Ted’s wife, Legitimately ditzy. Her brain seems to work on a totally different wavelength than the rest of the world. Very sweet, and very genuine. Just doesn’t quite “get it”. * Barbara Grant, 40s-50s – A formidable opponent. No-nonsense, beautiful, brilliant, and a little scary.
