Open Paid Acting opportunity at SIUE

at Mursion in St. Louis, MO

Mursion is partnering with SIUE School of Education. SIUE will using Mursion technology to train student teachers in a mixed-reality virtual simulator helmed by a Simulation Specialist.. We are currently looking to fill 2 Simulation Specialist positions to be based at the the SIUE campus.

A Simulation Specialist possesses a multi-faceted and unique skill set including: ​
  • Performing experience (acting, improvisation, standardized patient and/or role-playing)
  • The innate ability to listen and respond with sincerity, empathy, and emotional honesty
  • The ability to match and maintain distinct, realistic voices
  • The capacity to both understand and honestly portray vastly different psychological profiles
  • A mastery of their actor’s instrument: voice, body, and imagination
  • Knowledge of pop culture
  • The ability to present a youthful essence and matching age-appropriate content
  • Comfort with basic computer skills
  • Experience with (or interest in learning) gaming technology

The training schedule for the Simulation Specialists based out of SIUE is projected to be a total of 2 weeks M-F, in late February.

Once training is completed, the projected need for the Simulation Specialists will start at 10-15 hours per week but the demand is expected to increase to 30-35 hours per week starting in the spring. The hours available will then decrease in the summer but will pick back up to 30-35 hours a week in the fall. The projected schedule would be Monday thru Friday from 9-3pm along with some Saturdays and evenings. Please note: There will be times the Simulation Specialist will be asked to work evenings. Advance notice will be given.
All training and subsequent work is compensated at $18/hour and will take place at SIUE School of Education, Health and Human Behavior.

Auditions will be held in early to mid February. All audition will be remote via video conferencing.
