Non-Union Auditioning for January production - REVISED

at First Run Theare in Crestwood, MO

First Run Theatre (FRT), a professional company dedicated to presenting world premiere productions of plays by local-area playwrights, concludes its ninth season with an evening of one-act plays, both by Richard LaViolette. FRT last had the privilege of producing one of Richard’s plays, Death By Fiat, in August, 2008.
Divine’s Grace is an Edwardian mystery that takes place in a small English village and involves an unrequited love story and a stolen necklace. The Kerpash Affair takes place in present-day USA and concerns the kidnapping of a wealthy hedge-funds manager, currently under indictment for fraud.

The plays will be directed by Jim Meady and Judy Yordon. Brad Slavik and Jim Meady are sharing Producer responsibilities. Performance dates are January 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22. Sunday performances (January 15 and 22) are matinees (2 PM). Evening performances are at 8 PM. All performances will be held at DeSmet Jesuit High School’s Thomas Hunter Theater, 233 N. New Ballas Road, Creve Coeur, MO 63141.

Audition Dates: October 15 @ 2 PM and October 18 @ 7 9M. These are open auditions and we would appreciate everyone arriving before or as close to the start time as possible. Auditions will be at Soundstage Productions Art Space, 220 Crestwood Court, Crestwood, MO, 63126. Auditions will consist of cold readings and should last no more than three hours. Please bring a resume and head shot if you have them.

Cast - Divine’s Grace: four males; two females: (English accents required for production; not auditions)
The Rev. Dr. Robert H. Locksley - Late 20s – Vicar of St. Cuthbert’s Church in an English village.
Lady Mary DeBonnaire – the attractive daughter of the dowager countess Lady DeBonnaire and the late Earl DeBonnaire, early 20s. She is Doctor Locksley's love interest.
Mr. Reynald Greenleaf Littlejohn – early- to mid-40s - a former and reformed safecracker and thief, now the verger of St. Cuthbert’s, he is a transplanted working-class Londoner.
Jane (Lady DeBonnaire) – The dowager countess and mother to Lady Mary. She is a wealthy, influential, and very concerned mother of four in her early 50s.
Mr. Guy Lackland – a ruthless English/South African in his late 50s, he and his wife only recently moved to the village. Appears a bit rough around the edges.
Detective Montague – A detective with the Metropolitan Police – mid-30s or older

Cast - The Kerpash Affair: five male; three female:
Jerome Kerpash - A billionaire hedge fund manager under indictment for fraud. He is in his mid to late 60s, sophisticated, shrewd.
Kidnapper A (K.A.) - He is young but well-versed in what he is doing. He is always masked and hooded, always wears a crime-scene outfit, always wears a baseball cap, and always wears wrap-around sunglasses.
Kidnapper B (K.B.) - He seems to be older than Kidnapper A, but allows the younger man to lead in the crime. He dressed very similar to Kidnapper A.
Miriam Kerpash - Trophy wife of Jerome Kerpash. Late 40s. 98% cellulite free!
Lt. Alan Fitzsimmons - A city detective. Early- to mid-50s. (Same as Kidnapper B)
Detective Margaret Blanchard - A city detective. Late 30s to early 40s. Good at her job and ambitious.
Helen Redstone - A divorcee, Kerpash’s kept woman. Forty years old, very sexy.
Robert Cotter - The federal district attorney, early 50s. Politically ambitious.
Special Agent Lewis - FBI special agent in charge, 40s – 50s.
