Hello, all!
My name is Jordan Bowlin, and I am a senior Film Production major at Webster University in Saint Louis, MO.
I’m looking at casting for my senior overview, “Over the Hill”. “Over the Hill” is a Coen-style drama about a good man who gets caught doing bad things. The story follows Hank Howell, a man who has led a life on the straight and narrow path and decides, as a sort of mid-life crisis, to act out for a night and take part in the things of the world. He goes to a bar, meets a girl named Natalie, and things slowly start spiraling out of his control.
The roles I’m looking to cast will be the following:
Hank Howell: a 50 year old father and faithful husband. He’s a man who lives by his morals, and is conflicted throughout the whole story. I almost wrote him with Walter White from Breaking Bad in mind.
Anne Howell: Anne’s mid-forties wife. She is a classically beautiful woman who loves and adores Hank. She’s respectful of him, but is also a strong woman.
Detective Levi Flynn: A young-thirties detective at the local police department. He is great at his job, but slightly sarcastic and to-the-point.
Natalie: A mid-twenties girl. She enjoys having a good time and is flirty, but not to the point of being slutty. I envisioned her as a sort of Mila Kunis type (not necessarily in looks, but personality)
Leslie: Leslie is the waitress at the bar Hank goes to. She’s a mid-twenties girl who is sweet and very helpful to Hank. I imagined her with a northern accent, as a reference to Fargo.
If you know, or feel up to playing one (or any) of the parts, please contact me!
I plan on having auditions in the middle-to-end of December. Potentially some in January (as I know this is a busy time) and shooting begins in late-February.
Thanks for your consideration!
