Two Stray Dog Theatre 2012 Musicals

Stray Dog Theatre (SDT) celebrates 2012 as a Saint Louis professional theatre and is holding non-Equity auditions for their next two musicals, THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK and SPRING AWAKENING. As always, Stray Dog Theatre honors diversity and non-traditional casting practices.
THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL Music and Lyrics by David Nehls, Book by Betsy Kelso.
Opens August 2, 2012 and closes August 18, 2012. Performances Thursdays through Saturdays with one matinee on the final Saturday. Possible extension through August 25.
First rehearsal: June 25, 2012. Must rehearse through Independence Week. Evenings and weekends. White trash has never been more raucously entertaining than in this laugh-out-loud musical! This is a hilarious tongue-in-cheek, satirical, country-rock and blues musical about adultery, ¡¦80s nostalgia, spray cheese, road kill, hysterical pregnancy, a broken electric chair, kleptomania, strippers, flan, and disco. A Saint Louis Premiere.

SPRING AWAKENING Book and Lyrics by Steven Sater, Music by Duncan Sheik, Based on the play by Frank Wedekind.
Opens October 4, 2012 and closes October 20, 2012. Performances Thursdays through Saturdays with one matinee on the final Saturday. Possible extension through Oct. 27.
First rehearsal: August 27, 2012. Must rehearse through Labor Day Weekend. Evenings and weekends.
SPRING AWAKENING features music by Grammy-winning musical artist Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater. The 2006 Broadway production won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score; and launched the careers of Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff (of television¡¦s Glee). Set in late-1890s Germany, the musical follows a group of teenagers as they discover and explore their minds, bodies, and passions in the journey through adolescence to adulthood.
> Strong vocal ensemble and some musical staging/dance.
> Contains adult language & situations, and must be comfortable portraying these onstage.
(If actor is under 18 years old, a consenting parent/guardian must accompany the actor to scheduled audition.)
> All actors will need to look like high school students.
