Auditions for Marble Stage's 8th Season
at Marble Stage Theatre in Webster Groves, MO
Marble Stage winner of best theatre in St. Louis by Fox 2 and winner of best production by “The American Association of Community Theatre”
Announces auditions for our 8th season musical
The Mystery Of Edwin Drood
Auditions are June 8th from 6pm to 10pm
And June 9th from 1pm to 6pm
At The Mead Center in Webster Groves
17 Selma Street, Webster Groves 63119
Located across the street from Webster Groves High School
Auditions will consist of singing a song in your key.
An accompanist will be provided.
You may bring a CD with your song as long as all vocals have been removed
You may also be asked to read or sing something from the show.
If you would like to keep from waiting around you may call for an appointment time by calling 314-437-0846 but is not necessary.
Please expect to stay about an hour.
If you are unable to make the audition time please call us to find if an alternate day and time can be arranged.
Rehearsals will be about 3 times a week. Please know any and all conflicts between June 11 and August 5
Performances will be August 2-5 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Crestwood.
Parts are available for ages 15 to 80 with 8 men and 5 Women, plus this show requires a large chorus of members who are probably more important to the show than the leads themselves.
Drood is a show within a show and each person plays two characters
Mayor Sapsea: Chairman William Cartwright-Narrator of the story
Edwin Drood/the first Datchery: Miss Alice Nutting-England’s best known male impersonator
Rosa Bud: Miss Deirdre Peregrine-Young ingénue/well so we think
John Jasper: Mr. Clive Paget-The villain of our story
The Princess Puffer: Miss Angela Prysock-Older women with less than a happy past
The Rev. Crisparkle: Mr. Cedric Moncrieffe-A man of God. Older Priest of many years of wisdom
Neville Landless: Mr. Victor Grinstead-Newest member of the company. As far as acting goes he is still wet behind the ears
Helena Landless: Miss Janet Conover-Sister of Neville with a fiery personality
Bazzard: Mr. Philip Bax-Always the understunday but never the lead. However will always make his presence known when he is on stage. May not be playing with a full deck anymore
Durdles: Mr. Nick Cricker-Single father, caretaker of the morgue, town drunk
Deputy: Master Nick Cricker-Son of Durdles, young and full of life and spirit of youth
Horace: Mr. Nicholas Michael, stage manager of the Music Hall royal, does everything he can to keep the show from falling apart.
