Common Thread Auditions
at Common Thread Contemporary Dance Company in St. Louis, MO
Auditions for Common Thread Contemporary Dance Company will be held at Dance Project Saint Louis on Saturday, May 26th.
Common Thread is holding an open audition for men and women in the positions of company members, apprentice members and trainees. The audition will run from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and include a Ballet class and contemporary combination. Registration will open at 11:45 am. There is no audition fee, and the director will speak individually with dancers after the audition for those seeking feedback.
Letters of agreement will be dated from August 2012-May 2013. Season includes: Paid performances, daily classes provided for training, reasonable work schedule (3 hour work day 10:00 am-1:00 pm including class), some touring, and guest choreographers with international recognition.
Common Thread is a dance company founded on a holistic approach to the care and respect of its members. This includes:
Physical and mental health assistance in areas of psychology, acupuncture and chiropractic care, and reduced cost physical therapy for the dancers if needed. Vacation time is respected and appropriately scheduled and work is permitted outside of the company with other dance companies. (guesting in other parts of the United States)
We pride ourselves on being different not only in our mission of community service, but also as a place of daily dancing that is positive, encouraging, and focused on permitting your artistry to be of the utmost value in your dancing. We are a new company building a strong foundation in the St Louis community. We are not yet on a consistent weekly salary, but you will be paid for performances and touring.
