Hard Road Theatre productions is holding auditions for it's summer adult musical, ALL SHOOK UP! Auditions will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Highland Auditorium at 1800 Lindenthal Ave. in Highland, IL. Call backs will be held the following evening, Thursday, May 24th at 7:00 p.m.
Auditions are open to everyone: first timers and veteran performers alike, men and women, young and old. This is a show that is great for everyone.
ALL SHOOK UP features all Elvis songs that have been adapted for the stage. Some of the songs in the show include "Heartbreak Hotel," "Burning Love," "Jailhouse Rock," "Blue Suede Shoes," and "Hound Dog." The plot of the show, loosely based upon William Shakespeare's play TWELFTH NIGHT, follows a guitar-touting roustabout named Chad who rides into a small Midwestern town and changes the town and the people there through the power of love and rock-and-roll.
Those auditioning should be prepared to sing a selected song from the show. The music for these songs is available at the Hard Road website (www.hardroad.org). Besides singing, there will be cold readings, and a short dance routine will be taught. In addition, all those auditioning should be aware of any conflicts they have between May 27th-August 6th.
Hard Road Theatre Productions was founded in 2001 to provide the Highland area with affordable, high quality theater productions. The organization provides on- and off-stage opportunities for actors, vocalists, dancers, musicians and other volunteers of all ages.
