Auditions for GOD OF CARNAGE
at Independent Actors Theatre in Columbia, MO
Auditions for Independent Actors Theatre's production of GOD OF CARNAGE by Yasmina Reza, directed by L. Alex Iben
WHEN: Sunday, August 26 from 2-4 pm and Monday, August 27 from 6-8 pm
WHERE: Missouri United Methodist Church, room CLC 106 (204 S. 9th Street, Columbia)
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Headshots and resumes are welcomed but not required. (No headshot? No worries - we're happy to snap your fabulous photo on the spot so we can remember your beautiful face!) Roles are available for 2 men, 2 women.
Performances will be on October 5 & 6, 12 & 13 at the Missouri Contemporary Ballet Studio on Orr Street. (Oh, and this is also the mid-Missouri premiere of the play!) Actors cast in the show will receive a stipend for their work.
About the play:
Winner of the 2009 Tony Award and the basis for the 2011 movie adaptation Carnage, Yasmina Reza’s contemporary comedy of manners centers around a playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys which brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.
