Open MUNY 2010 Children and Teen Auditions

Location and Times

Where
Auditions are held at The Performing Arts Center at St. Louis University High School, 4970 Oakland Avenue (located between Kingshighway and Macklind). Parking is available at the St. Louis Science Center. Please obtain a free parking coupon at the audition registration table to use when exiting the parking lot.

When
Auditioners may arrive anytime within the audition times noted below.

Children’s Chorus Auditions
(Ages 7-13)

Saturday, February 20
Ages 7 – 8 — 8:30am to 9:30am
Ages 9 – 10 — 10:00am to 12:00pm
Ages 11 – 13 — 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Teen Chorus Auditions
(Ages 14-18 and currently enrolled in middle school or high school)

Sunday, February 21
1:00pm to 3:00pm

PLEASE NOTE: Audition times subject to change.

General Audition Information

  • Age requirement must be met on the day of the auditions.
  • Upon arrival, auditioners receive an audition number. When your number is called, we take your picture and escort your group to the audition area. The entire audition process lasts 60 – 90 minutes after your number is called. Auditioners need not bring a photo or resume.
  • Auditioners should be prepared to sing 8 measures of a song. Please bring your own sheet music in the key that you will be singing. An accompanist will be provided. No a capella or recorded music.
  • Auditioners will be taught a dance routine, and should wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
  • Auditioners chosen for the mainstage season will be contacted within two weeks following the auditions with a show assignment. Those cast have the option to further audition for Muny Kids and Teens.
  • For those selected to perform for the 2010 season, rehearsals begin 11 days prior to the opening of each show.
  • These are closed auditions, not open for viewing by the public, parents or guardians.
