Casting for film FRANKENSTEIN, THE MODERN PROMETHEUS
at Mad Baby Pictures in St. Louis City, MO
P.H.Pinkston and Derek Elz announce the start of production of the feature length film
Frankenstein, the Modern Prometheus
A modern drama/mystery set in a small Midwestern town in the dead of winter, Frankenstein interprets the original book.
Ed and Elizabeth Dittmer have already had hard times in the marriage as Elizabeth was not able to conceive. But they are true loves. Now a greater challenge comes as Elizabeth is diagnosed with a severe form of blood cancer and given six months to live. Ed is committed to doing all that he can to find the cure, but is dumbfounded when the new attendant at the small town bowling alley, Joe Erin, offers him a vial announcing that “it is the cure to all cancers”
As they work together testing the formula in various ways, it appears to be just what Joe said it was, but Ed is more and more concerned by Joe’s bizarre behavior and apparent lack of humanity.
Taking the theme from the original book, Ed attempts to play God and cheat death only to fine destruction and doom for him and his loved ones.
Primary Cast:
Ed Dittmer age 35-40, research scientist,
Loving to his wife, easy going regular guy, friendly to those around him, smart, but not nerdy
Elizabeth Dittmer, age 30-38, schoolteacher, strong, resilient, very loving to Ed, smart and perceptive of people.
Joe Erin, age 35-40, bowling alley attendant, great smile, friendly nature, easy going, highly intelligent, but evil hidden under the thin veneer. Pure, 100% evil.
Jenny, 25-35, Lab assistant,
Sherriff, 35-60, easy going but smart, methodical,
Dr. Eldon Tyrell, 40-60, research scientist, owner of the lab. Direct, a little over bearing, but not mean.
Inspector Hanford, 35-55, State Policeman, suspicious, formal, by the book policemen.
This production will be shot in St. Louis in Feb-March.
The three primary actors must be prepared for a very demanding challenge both physically and emotionally.
