Echo Theatre Company Audition Notice for 2010 Season
at Echo Theatre Company in Crestwood, MO
Echo Theatre is seeking multi-ethnic Equity and non-Equity actors for their 2010 productions of God’s Ear, Terminus and Crumble (Lay Me Down, Justin Timberlake). All auditions are by appointment only.
GENERAL AUDITIONS: Saturday, April 3 (10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) and Monday, April 5 (6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)
CALLBACKS: Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11
REQUIREMENTS: Bring in 2 contrasting monologues, one from a verse play and one from a contemporary play (no longer than 2 minutes in combined length); 2 copies of your headshot and resume.
LOCATION: All auditions, including callbacks, will be held in Echo’s performance venue, Theatre 134, at the ArtSpace in Crestwood Court shopping center. The mall is located at the corner of Watson and Old Sappington Roads. The theater is located around the corner from the mall’s east entrance, near the former Chevy’s Fresh-Mex.

When a couple’s son drowns, their marriage begins to dissolve under the weight of grief that follows his death. At the center of the play is the concept of language, and how language and expression are used to deal with tragedy. In this imaginative dark comedy, it’s Christmas, and a year has passed since the untimely death of Janice's father. Struggling to cope, Janice is holding spiteful conversations with her dolls, and Mother is suffering from panic attacks, with only her baking skills to keep her busy. In their deteriorating Apartment that incessantly begs for repairs, their only comforts are visitations from their respective celebrity crushes – Justin Timberlake and Harrison Ford. With the support of Justin's affection, Janice begins to craft a deadly plan that will mend the chasm in their lives. Meanwhile, the Apartment is developing murderous plans of its own…
