Cast of Characters for Dead Man’s Cell Phone
Jean: Late twenties to early forties. Quirky. Pretty but in a quiet way. Curious. Deeply emotional. Looking for a connection.
Gordon Goetlieb: Forties to Fifties. Dead. Mysterious. People love him even though they do not know quite why.
Mrs. Goetlieb: Late sixties or older. Stoic. An old fashioned crazy. Holds herself high but lets her neuroses fall through the cracks.
Hermia Goetlieb: Thirties to Fifties. Stays strong even though her husband was distant. Trying to find her connection to the world.
Dwight Goetlieb: Forties to Fifties. Still hiding in the shadows of his older brother. Quiet and passionate.
The Other Woman: Mysterious. Dominating. Attractive.
Audition guidelines:
Please prepare a realistic monologue (either comedic or dramatic) of no longer than a minute and a half. Please show real emotion on either side. This is a dark comedy with touches of romance, mystery, death, and family craziness. I would like to get to know you and your character.
