Part-time House Manager - Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra

Position Summary:
Manage Front of House (FOH) activities for SLSO and non-SLSO events, including concerts, rentals, Community Partnership events, Development and Marketing events, and receptions events. Must be willing and available to work evenings and weekends.
Essential Functions Include:
•Manage all FOH services and activities including patron services, Usher Corps, and food and beverage sales; serve as point person for FOH for all events.
•Oversee bar staff and logistics.
•Hire, train, schedule and oversee Usher Corps for all events; review and approve time sheets.
•Resolve customer complaints and concerns related to FOH and environment issues.
•Review food and beverage final transactions and forward receipts and reports to accounting department.
•Assist in creating FOH budget to ensure efficient and effective operation.
•Recommend and implement improvements for FOH/customer service experience.
•Serve as on-site liaison for FOH catering.
•Check all FOH spaces prior to each event for accurate setup for all events (including Foyer, Met Bar, and Whitaker Room) and cleaning issues. Open bars, pre-set signage, set tables.
•Serve as on site liaison for CD/merchandise sales.
•Attend weekly production meetings and other meetings as needed.
Position Requirements Include:
•High school diploma plus equivalent to 2 years college or university education.
•2 years experience in Front of House management and/or events planning, customer service experience .
•An appreciation for live musical performance is desired, and appreciation for orchestral music is preferred.
•Ability to tactfully communicate regularly with internal and external contacts.
•Ability to use computer with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
•Must represent SLSO in a professional manner.
•Must have ability to deal with situations requiring immediate action.
