Open auditions will be held by Affton CenterStage Theatre Company for their fall production of Mark Twain's long lost comedy, "Is He Dead?"

Auditions will take place at Crestwood Mall in art space 120 on August 19th from 7 to 9 pm and again on Saturday, August 21st from 1 to 4pm.

"IS HE DEAD?" is a hilarious comedy set in 1846, outside Paris. An up and coming painter is in debt to a villianous art dealer who also threatens to still the artist's beautiful fiance. So the artist and his friends plot to fake his death to drive up the value of his paintings. But in order to keep painting (on the sly), the artist disguises himself as his own widowed sister. Now a wealthy "widow" he must find a way to get out of a dress, return to life and marry his betrothed.

4 Females - (2 in their 20's-30's) and (2 in their 50's-60's)
7 Males - (5 in their 20's - 30's) and (2 in their 50's-60's)

Auditions will consist of cold readings.

The production will involve four performances from October 14th through the 16th and will be performed at the Robert G. Reim Theatre/Kirkwood Civic Center in Kirkwood. This will be the St. Louis premiere of this play.
