Casting Ages: 18-50+/Looking for male/female actors who can pass as high school students, as well as some older adult male roles.

October 1/2/3 and 8/9/10, 2010
Rehearsals Start: August 5, 2010
Bring Resume and Headshot if available. Bring Music in your key. Come prepared to learn a short dance routine.

Synopsis
The girls of St. Godley’s School are in trouble! Money for the school has run out and the place will have to close. Leave it to these resourceful girls, and their unflappable headmistress (played by a man in drag), to come up with a plan to keep the school afloat. Using whatever they can find at hand, the girls mount an original production: a musical version of Moby Dick, featuring their headmistress in the coveted role of Captain Ahab.

COFFIN Played by a man. Landlord of the Spouter Inn on Nantucket.
CREW Ensemble
DAGGOO A crew member aboard the Pequod.
ESTA A boy-crazy hussy and the smart aleck. Also, Ahab’s wife. Pretty, but very highly strung.
FATHER MAPPLE A flamboyant, revival-type preacher.
FLASK A crew member aboard the Pequod who tries to steal Queequeg’s money.
GARDINER Played by a man. Captain of The Rachel. Very Gilbert & Sullivan spoofy.
GHOSTS Ensemble
HEADMISTRESS/CAPTAIN AHAB Must be played by a man in drag. The driving force of the show.
HEATHENS Ensemble
ISHMAEL The “nerdy musician” girl & the story’s narrator.
JANITOR/ELIJAH Played by a man. One-armed & loony crewmember of the Pequod. A gossipmonger, spreading rumors. Also PIERRE – The Pequod’s carpenter and undertaker. Supposedly, he’s French.
MARY
MOBY DICK Voice over. The ghostly voice of the great white whale.
PIP Played by a man. The school’s puny security guard & the cabin boy aboard the Pequod. He isn’t older than the girls, but he’s smaller and weaker than most of them.
QUEEQUEG The mystical, strange, savage harpooner who’s tender and kind underneath it all. Also a cannibal.

STARBUCK Stern and strong, the one the other girls look up to. Also, First mate of the Pequod – very Christian, upright & fair.
STUBB The quintessential “dumb blonde.” Must always be played as high “Valley Girl.” She’s the new second mate aboard the Pequod, recently promoted from cabin boy.
TASHTIGO A Harpooner aboard the Pequod.
