Auditions for THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WM SHAKESPEARE
at Hawthorne Players in Florissant, MO
Hawthorne Players announce auditions for "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" to be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Florissant Civic Center Theatre, Parker Road and Waterford Drive, 63033.
The Story - This hilarious, breakneck comedy has six actors making their way through all of the Bard's plays (and some sonnets, too!) in less than two hours. A wild frolic through the works of Shakespeare, you've never seen the classics performed like this. Complete wi...th a hip-hop Othello, and the histories performed as a football game, this is Shakespeare for those who don't think they like Shakespeare-and especially for those who do! As London's longest-running comedy, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) is chock-full of sight gags, physical humor and irreverent foolery
Auditions will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. and will consist of cold readings from the script. If you are interested in receiving auditions sides prior to the auditions, please contact the director, Michael Fitzgerald, at mfitzgerald73@aol.com.
We are looking to cast 3M and 3 W. Each role requires high energy, sharp improvisational and comedic timing, physicality, and above all, a sense of fun. We are looking for one woman who can do a strong impersonation of either Rachael Ray or Paula Deen.
Please be advised that one woman will briefly appear in a corset and bloomers. Also, one of the men will be cross dressing throughout the show.
If cast, you will be required to join The Hawthorne Players for a fee of $20.
Rehearsals will be held on Sundays (2-5) and Tuesdays and Thursdays (7-10). Due to the ensemble work and physicality of the show, you must be able to attend most of the rehearsals.
Tech week is Sunday October 31 - Thursday November 4.
Performances are Friday November 5 - Saturday November 6 and Friday November 12 - Sunday November 14.
Any questions, please contact mfitzgerald73@aol.com.
