The St. Louis Cabaret Conference is proud to announce its second year of offering high-level training in the art of song performance to talented area high school students. The weekend culminates in a professionally produced performance at The Bistro at Grand Center (home of Jazz at The Bistro).

Young performers will break out of the musical theater or show choir mold and find new directions for their talents. This 3-day intensive is not a vocal or a musical theater workshop, but focuses on performance skills needed by singers of any genre who work in front of a live audience. The result is a polished, poised, confident and more mature performer.

Small variety performance group at Lilly Steele Fitness

I am wanting to gather a small group of performers in a variety of disciplines (Dancer, Circus acts, Musicians, etc) to work together and practice together like a musical band would do.

I need 4-7 people who can mesh well, work on the creative process together and are planning on staying in St. Louis for a while. This will be an ongoing side project that will probably only offer a few performance opportunities at first but hopefully will grow to getting gigs more often.

I want this group to be a bit more on the high end side with the ability to put on a full length show all on its own. Hopefully with the right blend of people we will have skills and talents that can cross over to create group pieces as well as solo acts that stand out.

Compensation wont be much at first. We will basically be utilizing the time as free practice and skill share while we are developing the group and concept. Once we feel solid enough in our acts and show then we can sell the concept and put on shows.

This may be a little far fetched for some of you and I understand this, but if you are interested in seeing what this concept could be, please send me a resume and head shots. 18 and over only. Multiple performance skills preferred.

New Line Theatre is looking for a box office manager, someone very responsible and very friendly and outgoing. Some experience in retail or customer service is helpful, but not necessary.

New Line produces three shows each season. Each show runs 12 performances over four weeks, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The box office manager must be at the theatre by 6:30 on performance nights and stay till the end of the show. The position pays $500 for each four-week run.

New Line’s next show is BUKOWSICAL, running May 30-June 22.

The St. Louis Renaissance Faire is looking for a volunteer muralist for it’s 15th year Jubilee celebration during our ‘Art’ themed weekend on May 25th- 27th.
This will be done on a space we will provide on our grounds and will be part of our site for years to come with due credit given to the artist.

Requirements:
1: Be able to come in period appropriate clothing and perform this as a demo during hours of operation during our three day May 25th weekend. (There is a possibility that we may have things to lend out.)

2: Send us atleast three examples of previous works.

3: After acceptance you will be given a subject matter and be asked to provide a sketch before final approval.

Renaissance St Louis provides education experiences of art, science, engineering and theater in historical settings. Next you will be given a 2-Page Side with a partner. Scott-Arthur will coach each pair of actors through their scene – addressing the steps of his acting process as well as the techniques of presentation in auditioning.
Your 2-Page Side will become your filmed audition piece the following day.

Sunday April 21st: Self-Management & Today’s Casting Office

A safe environment to learn the Do’s & Don’ts of the Audition Process. Individual Auditions will be FILMED – you will perform the scene you received the night before.
We will continue with a seminar led by Director, Writer, Casting Director Elizabeth Allen, where you will learn what it takes to market yourself as an actor and what to expect from today’s industry audition process:

Are you ready to memorize, record, and upload your auditions to the Internet? Or show up to the casting office and perform a scene you have never read before?

After a brief break, Scott-Arthur will then return to critique your performance and audition technique – where you learn just as much from watching the auditions as you do from performing:

Are you fully concentrated and fully committed to the reality of your scene? Are you properly presenting yourself to the camera and casting director without being consciously aware of it?

We will end the 2 days in a final Q&A with Scott-Arthur Allen and Elizabeth Allen.
