IN COCA’S BLACK BOX

 

 

Jewish political theorist Hannah Arendt is thrown into turmoil when her lover and mentor, the renowned philosopher Martin Heidegger, develops ties to the Nazi party and becomes a vocal supporter of Hitler. After the war, she returns to Germany and must weigh the consequences of forgiving Martin for his actions and question whether or not love can truly conquer all. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  Tom Martin will direct the reading to be performed March 19 in COCA’s Anheuser Busch Black Box Theatre. Auditions for St. Louis Shakespeare Summer Season

ST. LOUIS SHAKESPEARE holds auditions for its 2006 summer season on
Saturday, Feb. 18 and Monday, Feb. 20 at St. John's United Methodist
Church. There are just a handful of audition slots open - roles are
available for non-equity actors of all types (ages 18 and older).
Auditions are by appointment only; please prepare a 1-2 minute
monologue from any Shakespeare play. Productions include:

Male actor needed for short video

Lindenwood University students are shooting a video short on Tuesday,
February 28 and March 7, for an advanced class. We need a MALE ACTOR,
50ish-60ish patriarch, who must smoke during the scene (just at the
beginning). If possible, we would like to have one rehearsal beforehand.

Actor will receive a DVD copy of the short and food will be provided.
We will be shooting from 2 pm to 5 pm on those days. If we can get it
on one day, then we'll be happy campers. We will consider union or

Actors are needed for the Webster University Media Excellence Awards
(The Webbies) entertainment comedy segments. The total running time
of the segments will be comparable to a 30-minute short film.

Your hard work will present itself to an audience of hundreds at the
awards ceremony on April 10th, 2005.

SPECIFIC ROLES NEEDED:

TUCKER WELLS (Male, late teens) – A fish out of water. The portrait
of innocence and naivety. Apprentice to GEOFF TIPPIT.
GEOFF TIPPIT (Male, late teens) – The wise master. Bitter, but
powerful and very experienced.
MUSCLES (Male, 20's) – A 'tough guy'. Actor should be in decent
shape. This character is the type who acts first and thinks second.
CHIP (Male, 20's) – A gangly, know-it-all, nerdy character. Loves
gadgets, etc.
JAILBAIT (Female, late teens to mid 20's) Very attractive, sultry,
seductive. A real vixen.

Auditions for "Mame" with Alpha Players

The Alpha Players of Florissant announce auditions for the classic play Auntie Mame, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. OLD ST. LOUIS AUDITIONS WEBSITE CRASHED

As of Sunday February 12th around noon the old www.stlauditions.com servers crashed and hard drives went down. The data was lost and is currently is in data recovery process.

Auditions for local comedy club

Laughs on the Landing, St. Louis’ premiere improv comedy theater, will be holding auditions on February 21, 2006 from 7:00PM until 9:00PM. We will be focusing on integrating new members into an ensemble with regular performances on the Landing. Improvisation experience helps, but is not mandatory. Dress comfortably since there will be a lot of movement required. Headshots and resumes are not required, but are helpful. Sheet music must be in proper key, clearly marked with cuts, etc. A second copy should be provided for audition staff. Cassette and CD tracks may be used provided there are NO vocals. A standard cassette/CD player will be available. All candidates will learn a monologue and dance combination.

Auditioning dates & times: Auditioning is not necessarily a requirement. Seeking local bands for National Sitcom

We are currently seeking local bands of any genre for a new national sitcom, "Persecution", which is planning to air its first episode in April.

"Persecution" is a new breed of sitcom, the first of its kind to air completely online, free of charge, in true high-definition format. You may visit http://www.persecutionvideo.com to view the current trailers. "Persecution" is a family oriented comedy/drama.

Non-Equity Auditions for "The Day Daddy Came Home"

The two time Arts For Life winner, GIFTED PRODUCTIONS, will be holding non-equity auditions for Paris Crayton III stageplay "THE DAY DADDY CAME HOME" This play focuses on the struggles of one family trying to cope with the return of their father who has been away for twelve years. Auditions will be held Feb. 18 2006, from 10:00 to 2:00 at the International Institute located on 3654 South Grand. Please bring a picture and have a one minute monologue prepared. You will have to read from the script. Perfomance dates will be late June early July.

Role requirements are as follows.

Caroline Joy: (Lead, late thirties) Mother of three. A kind-hearted woman who loves her family but sometimes can be nonchalant about the issues of the children.

Junior (Antonio Little): (Lead, 18) A senior in High school who has a strong love for basketball. he has many secrets that he keeps hidden from everyone. Son of Caroline's first husband.

Ruth Abbot: (Lead, late sixties) The Grandma that can be as sweet as honey or as hard as a rock if you make her that way. A Christian woman who can give you the word and make everything better.

Tiffany Joy: (Lead, 17) The typical teen who is boy crazy. She gives her heart easily and hates for it to be broken.

Kayla Joy: (Lead, 13) The youngest daugter who just yearns for attention. She follows after her grandma and tries to learn the word of GOD which turns out not so good for her.

George Joy: (Lead, late forties) A very mysterious man. Husband of Caroline who left for twelve years.

Kevin Powell: (Lead, late thirties) Next door neighbor of Caroline. He falls in love with her as soon as he sees her. Very attractive, and masculine, every woman's dream man.

Ms. Johnson: (Supporting, early fifties) A crazy lady who lives across the street. No one likes her but she is blind to that.

Ms. Peters:(Supporting, any age) Kayla's teacher who doesn't believe in GOD.

Auditions for "The Underpants"

St. Peters Act II will be holding auditions for The Underpants, adapted from a Carl Sternheim play by Steve Martin. Auditions will be 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 23 and Sunday, February 26.

Act II is a community theatre group. While we don't offer monetary compensation, we can offer the love of the stage, and a great experience. In addition to actors, we welcome volunteers for sound and lights, stage mgr, property mgr, set construction, etc. We have a dedicated repeat audience, and take pride in our work. Klinglehoff: An elderly man.

Equity/Non-Equity Auditions for Ozark Actors Theatre

Where: Immaculate Heart of Mary School located at 4070 Blow St. Louis, MO 63116. Park in lot next to school. Auditions will be on the second floor. Monitor will be present.

Season: Gypsy (rehearsals begin 6/2 perf 6/15-6/25), Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (rehearsals begin 6/23 perf 7/6-7/16), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (pending availability rehearsals begin 7/7 perf 7/20-7/30). Casting is for one show or possibly whole season. All roles are available.

Seeking: Actors and dancers of all ethnicities and types. All actors must be over 18 years of age. Also, seeking Equity Production Stage Manager.

Salary: Ozark Actors Theatre operates under an SPT 6 contract. Non-equity, all positions paid. Housing is provided.
