Improv Auditions

Tin Ceiling Auditions for "Zombozo"
The Tin Ceiling is looking for actors, dancers, acrobats, contortionists, magicians, knife throwers, bearded women, ventriloquists, and other vaudevillian or sideshow acts for this summer's only silent, circus-zombie play, "Zombozo". A tale of love, magic, revenge, and the undead, "Zombozo" will be performed in a silent movie pantomime style, accompanied by live music and the eating of living flesh.
Actors must be non-equity and comfortable with heavy makeup, minor prosthetics, gore and fake blood. Possibly lots of that last one.
13 parts of all ages and both sexes need to be cast, including:
* a contortionist (m or f)
* a knife thrower (f)
* an evil magician (m)
* a strong man (m)
* a bearded lady (m or f)
* a dog-faced boy (m)
* rope, scarf, or pole aerial acrobat (f)
* a clown who can juggle (possibly one of his own arms) (m)
Don't worry if your particular skill isn't on the list, or if you don't have a "circus-type" skill at all. Parts may be changed or added depending on the impression you leave. Although, if you happen to have a tail, you pretty much have one of the roles.
Auditions will consist of a performance of your talent, a bit of improv, and a short "reading" from the script. Performance dates will be July 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th, 30th.
Auditions will be held Sunday, March 19th from Noon to 4pm and Monday, March 20th from 7:30 to 10pm at the Tin Ceiling at 3159 Cherokee in South St. Louis.

Affton CenterStage Theater Company is holding open auditions for our
annual production for children, "Alice in Wonderland", a non-musical
fantasy adapted for the stage by Charles Turner. The production is
being directed by Rob Corbett,
assisted by Jessica Johns, and produced by Judith Rethwisch.
Synopsis: Alice plunges through the mirror and becomes involved in
that madcap and deliciously satiric series of adventures immortalized
by Lewis Carroll. This production is dramatized as a series of
fourteen episodes from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking
Glass. This show is a kaleidoscope of action and madness, set in the
80's with the necessary elements of suspense and frustration to make
it all work. While primarily geared towards children, our annual
children's productions are also enjoyed by teens and adults.
Parts are available for males and females from age 5 to adults of all
ages. Auditions will be held at the Mid-America Grocers
Association, 5431 Chippewa Street, Saint Louis, MO 63109.
Auditions will take place on April 6, at 7:00 PM, and April 8 at
Noon. Please allow 2 to 3 hours for the auditions. Auditions will
consist of cold readings from the script. A map showing the location
of the auditions can be found on the "Our Season" page of our web
site (www.afftoncenterstage.org).
The production will be presented at the Judith Rethwisch Auditorium,
Affton High School. Show dates are May 26 & 27, 2006. Doors open at
6:00 pm. Each evening includes an Arts Festival, presented in
collaboration with the Missouri South Arts Council (MSAC). The
festival will include pre-show and intermission lobby full of
activities for all, as well as several performance artists on stage
following the play.
