Local organization seeks director

A local charity is looking for help in producing a documentary on
their organization. It's a wonderful opportunity to use your talents
for a good cause. There is no pay involved -- just the chance to
help promote an organization that does good work.

The organization promotes soccer and literacy for at-risk kids,
mostly from urban areas. The kids -- many of whom have never played
soccer -- get to play on a team, have uniforms, the whole nine yards,
provided they pass certain English classes. Kids have gone
from not being able to read and write at all to reading and writing
poetry within a few months. Gang kids have left the life and want
to be writers.

The organization is St. Louis Scores ( http://www.stlouisscores.org/
index.php?id=97 ). They're looking for either an individual or a
production company that would be interested in donating their time
and equipment to produce the documentary. Their hope is that the
video could be used around-the-country, promoting the cause --
perhaps even going to film festivals.

They're looking mainly for a shooter -- someone with camera equipment
and most likely sound. They might want to produce a short "calling
card" for the program first, and then do a full-blown documentary
later. However, they're open to suggestions.

So, if you're interested, get in touch with one of their board
members, Paul Guyot, who's spearheading the project. Again, you can
e-mail him at info@paulguyot.net.
