Actors needed for reading of a new play

Actors needed for reading of a new play - "7-10 Split" - written by
John F Williams. The reading will take place on July 10, 2006 at the
Soulard Coffee Garden (Upstairs) - 910 Geyer Ave - Soulard, MO 63104.
Start timei: 6:30 pm. This is sponsored by the St Louis Writers Group
Workshop founded by Mario Farwell.

The story: A woman is home alone with her elderly and ill mother.
Someone tries to break into their home. The woman has a gun for
protection. She uses it. Who she kills creates a problem, but worse
still... was it an accident or was it on purpose?
These are the characters:

KATE MORGAN, 50 yrs old. A no-nonsense woman, married for 10 years to
a mechanic, she thrives on getting things straightened out. She takes
charge, but underneath there is always a nagging question of worth.

LARRY MORGAN, 45 yrs old. Kate's husband. He is gregarious and likes
to be his own man. He wants everything to go smoothly, but only if
it's by his rules. He stands by Kate and puts up with her extended
family.

FRANKIE BILLINGS, 78 yrs old. Kate's mother, she suffers from
emphysema and Altzheimer's, but has a memory scene where she is far
less incapacitated. Haughty and opinionated, Frankie likes to get her
way and tries to manipulate everyone.

HANK BILLINGS, 48 yrs old, but looks much, much older. He has not led
a good life, but he is the "golden boy" of the family, much to Kate's
chagrin. He and Kate are always at odds, mostly over their parents'
money. Hank is hiding a drug addiction.
The actor for Hank also will read for Hank's father: BIG H. Big H is
82 and is dying of heart failure, but stills tries to be the
patriarch of the family. A distant man to all but his granddaughter,
Big H wants to right a few wrongs before he goes.

B.C. BILLINGS, 18 yrs old. B.C. is Hank's daughter, but lives with
Kate and Larry. She is overweight, but tries not to let it bother
her. She tries to be low-key and won't take stuff off anybody. She
finds Kate annoying, but can't help but appreciate what Kate does for
her.

OFFICER PETE LOGAN, 31 yrs old. AQ police officer who knows Larry,
Kate and the whole group, he is the first on the scene when the
shooting occurs and tries to help as much as he can until the body is
found and the case is turned over to the detectives. At odds with his
job and friendship to Larry and Kate, Pete tries to keep them
informed unofficially. He also is in better than excellent shape and
he likes to show that off. Also, he is started to feel attracted to
B.C. and doesn't want that to happen.

Contact: John Williams at 314-487-1987 or by email:
jtmawilliams@hotmail.com. I will get you a script as quickly as
possible and there will be one scheduled rehearsal reading prior to
the actual reading on 7/10/06.
