Reminder: NonProphets to hold Audition for sketch comedy show

NonProphet Theater Company will hold auditions for our signature sketch comedy show THE MILITANT PROPAGANDA BINGO MACHINE on Wednesday, July 12, starting at 6:30pm.

Auditions will be held at the Washington University West Library, located at on Forsythe at Jackson in Clayton.

We are casting for our sketch comedy show, THE MILITANT PROPAGANDA BINGO MACHINE, a very fun show for the audience as well as the actors. We prepare 24 original sketches each show, and rather than have a set lineup, we let the audience determine the course. Our Emcee guides things along, calling out a letter to get the ball rolling. That letter corresponds to a skewed BINGO card you get with your program. Also in the program are our 24 sketches, listed with a number. After the Emcee calls out the letter, the audience calls out which ever number of the sketch they want to see. Which ever is yelled first or loudest gets picked. If an audience member happens to get that letter/number combination on their BINGO card, they get to mark it off. If someone wins BINGO, they get a fantastic prize (from the dollar store).

As you can tell, its a frantic show. It is very demanding, and we are looking for actors who can keep up. You need to be exuberant, energetic, and have a quick wit. THIS IS NOT AN IMPROV SHOW!! But being capable of improvisation is a must. No experience is necessary, but of course it helps.

We are looking for four men and four women. Three to four alternates will also be cast.

Actors must also be able to write, and we will also be open to having writers submit sketches to become staff writers. Anyone bringing sketches to auditions should bring enough copies to cover the characters in that sketch, plus two.

No appointment is necessary. No head shot or resume is required, either. You do need to have at least two sketches/monologues to submit for the audition process.

We are eyeing two, ten week runs—at two different locations—starting as early as September. We will also be performing a benefit show for the NonProphet Theater Company on Saturday, August 12.

If you have any questions about the show or the auditions, contact Tyson at binkle28@gmail.com, or call 314-680-0476.

We hope to see you there.
