Non-Equity Auditions for GIRL GONE

The NonProphet Theater Company announces Non-Equity auditions for the third show of their season, Jacquelyn Reingold's GIRL GONE.

 

WHEN: Auditions will be Saturday, September 2 from 10:00am - 5:00pm (10:00am - 1:00pm for initial auditions, 3:00-5:00 for callbacks). Callbacks may also be on Sunday from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a 2 minute monologue from a contemporary play in their own age range - preferably something gritty and dark and varied from a play set in a city written after 1980.  The monologue auditions are walk-in only.

 

WHERE: Auditions will take place at the Washington University West Campus Library, located in Clayton on Forsyth at Jackson, between The Wine & Cheese Place and the new Metrolink station.

 

WHAT: In Jacquelyn Reingold's psychological thriller GIRL GONE, Tish is a young woman who dances in a topless bar. When her best friend is brutally murdered, she becomes obsessed with who killed her friend and why. The action moves rapidly from the past to the present, in and out of Tish's mind from a topless bar, to a hustler's apartment, to the middle of the street, as she tries to put together a fractured world where the pieces no longer fit. Tish finds her suspect playing the saxophone in a jazz club and risks her own life by coercing him into a reenactment of the crime. In a shocking turnaround, Tish finds what she's looking for.

 

Roles are available for 3 women and 3 men. This play is set in the world of exotic dancing, so be advised that the script may call for adult situations.

 

Please note that the roles of Jean, Bobby & Tish may be pre-cast.

 

Character Breakdown for GIRL GONE

 

TISH – Mid to late 20’s. Exotic dancer. Lost her best friend. Trying to put a shattered world back together.

 

JEAN - Mid to late 30’s. Tish’s best friend. Was a dancer. Live her life to the absolute fullest. Sexy. Fearless. Appears in Tish’s imagination and memory.

 

DANNY – Mid to late 20’s. Tish’s boyfriend. Nice guy, but. Tries hard. A little goofy, but a big heart.

 

BOBBY – Mid to late 30’s. Jean’s boyfriend before her death. Plays the sax. African-American. Sexy, dangerous. Seems like trouble.

 

CARLA (DANCER 1) – Mid 20’s to mid 30’s. Exotic dancer. Has seen it all. Tough. A survivor.

 

BABY JUNE (DANCER 2) – Early 20’s to mid 20’s. Exotic Dancer. The new girl. Wants to be on Broadway.

 

ROXANNE (DANCER 3) – Mid 20’s to late 20’s. Exotic Dancer. Very hot. Into heavy metal. Loves to dance.

 

SAM – Mid 20’s to mid 30’s. A gigalo. A hustler. Jean went to him for good sex.

 

All the women should be able to move well, and be comfortable dancing in exotic dancer attire

 

Production dates are October 19 – October 29.

 

The show will be directed by Chris Limber.

of cold readings of sides; you do not need a monologue. Casting

Actors needed for local film project

One Revolution Entertainment is seeking actors for a book trailer
(supernatural thriller) to be shot in the St. Louis area. The
trailer will provide a lot of exposure for actors that are chosen.
This is a no-pay position. Actors will receive credit, a dvd of the
trailer and the potential to work on the feature. Looking to fill:
two lead male roles: 18 to early 20's; 1 male smaller build, edgy,
musician look, 1 male, larger build, dark hair, athletic look. Two
female lead roles 18 to early 20's; 1 female short hair, contemporary
look, 1 female long hair...someone that can convey a young single
mom. 1 young girl (6-9 years old), small build. 7 Large Muscular
Males, tall,
