Auditions for BOOTH

Auditions to be held for original musical at UMSL

Actors, singers and dancers are being sought for auditions for a new
musical
by two faculty and one staff member at the University of Missouri-St.
Louis.

"Booth!" focuses on the life of Edwin Booth, a 19th-century American
actor
considered by many historians to be the best of his era. Booth's younger
brother, John Wilkes Booth, also an actor, assassinated President
Abraham
Lincoln.

The auditions will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5 in the
Whitaker
Room at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL. Call
backs
will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 6. Those auditioning should come
with a
prepared three-minute monologue and song.

The musical was written by Niyi Coker, the E. Desmond Lee Endowed
Professor
of African/African-American Studies, with lyrics and music by Barbara
Harbach, professor of music at UMSL, and Jonathan Yordy, coordinator of
public relations at UMSL.

Auditions for ROMEO AND JULIET

CLAYTON, MO – (November 9, 2006) – Clayton Community Theatre has announced audition times and dates for its production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, directed by Sam Hack.
            Auditions will be Wednesday, November 29th, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 2nd, at 10:00 a.m., in the Concordia Seminary Theater, 6501 Clayton Road.  Callbacks will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2nd.  Eleven men and four women plus a chorus will be cast, with parts available in all age ranges. 
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  Auditioners can choose (but will not be required) to present a Shakespearean monologue.  Auditioners may attend either or both of the two audition sessions.  Rehearsals will begin in mid-December (no rehearsals during the Christmas/New Year’s holidays).  Tech Week will be February 18-22 and performance dates will be February 23-24 and March 1-3 at 8:00 p.m.; and February 25 and March 4 at 2:00 p.m. 
CCT will seek to cast age-appropriate actors, including teenage actors in both lead and supporting roles.

Interactive Murder Mystery Auditions

Folks:

On Saturday, December 9th, Leavenworth Players Group, a professional theatre company based in Kansas City and Saint Louis, will be holding auditions for their holiday season of interactive murder mystery comedies.  We will be performing two shows in rotating repertory, "The Saint Valentine's Day Murder Mystery or Rubout At Uncle Vinny's" and "Seeing Your Shadow or Can You Dig It, Mister Groundhog?"

Auditioners will perform cold readings of sides; no monologues will be heard.  Please bring your professional calendar and be ready to make a professional commitment.

Auditions will be at Xanadu Restaurant, 280 Long Road, Chesterfield MO 63005, 1:00 p.m.  We hope to see you there.

Final Notice for Auditions for SOCCER MOMS at TGWG

The Theatre Guild of Webster Groves (TGWG) will hold
non-equity, cold-reading auditions for Kathleen
Clark's SOCCER MOMS this evening, Tuesday, November
7th at 7:00 PM.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Roles are avaliable for three adult women.
ADULTS:
3 Females Ages: 30ish - 45 ("soccer mom" age range)

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
The audition format is cold reading. (We hand you a
script, and have you read a passage.)

REHEARSAL AND PRODUCTION DATES:
Rehearsal dates TBA; most likely will be on Sundays,
Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Public performance dates are January 5-7 and 11-14
(with possible private performances Jan. 18-21).
Weeknight shows are at 8PM, and Sunday shows are at
2PM.
