Non-Equity Auditions for The Tin Ceiling's "seven/24 VI"

The Tin Ceiling is proud to announce audition for their one-night only event, the sixth annual "seven/24"!

St. Louis' craziest, most spontaneous night of theater comes roaring back for its sixth straight year! What happens when you challenge fourteen local writers, seven local directors, and a plethora of St. Louis actors to put together seven ten-minute plays in just twenty four hours? Absolutely anything.

It all starts Friday evening when the writers get together to create seven ten-minute scripts in twelve hours. Then, on Saturday morning, those scripts are given to seven directors who must cast and produce the scripts right up until show time at 8pm that evening. Will the writers come up with a coherent script? Will the directors go mad with frustration? Will the cast remember all of their lines? No one knows for sure!

This is theater at its freshest. Raw, uncompromising, witty, and original, "Seven/24" breaks all misconceptions of "boring theater" and thrills audiences with brand new works and talent. Come witness the madness as The Tin Ceiling Theatre Company and Ragged Blade Productions brings you "seven/24 VI"!

Auditions for actors interested in participating will be held at 8pm at the Theater at Saint John's (5000 Washington Place in the Central West End) May 25th, and those actors chosen for roles will be called at 9am the next day for eleven hours of rehearsal. All roles are non-equity. No resume or headshot is required. Auditions can consist of a prepared monologue, or a cold read from several monologues we will have on hand at the space.

The show starts at 8pm, May 26th at The Theatre at St. John's.

Can't audition, but you're interested in the show? Check out our page of "seven/24" promos!

Production Staff needed at Westport Playhouse

The Playhouse at Westport is immediately conducting interviews to staff an upcoming production in June.  Seeking director, technical director, and wardrobe/backstage personnel for a professional show to be announced pending royalty approval.  Director and Tech Director must be available in late June/early July, and running crews must be available for 6 shows a week all summer.  If interested, please contact Tom Clyde at 314-443-4800.

Audition info will be posted soon.

Crew members needed

"Beginnings", an independent TV series, is currently seeking out crew members for the production of its pilot episode. We're recruiting in all positions including:

-Director of Photography
-Key Grip
-Office Manager
-Location Manager
-Make-up/Wardrobe
-Editor
-Script Supervisor
-Production Assistant(s)

We're also looking for equipment. If you have your own that you're willing to use, that's a bonus.

It should be noted that we can't offer pay up front, because this production currently lacks a sufficient budget. But the goal of this pilot is to create a piece that will generate a lot of interest and give us something to show to investors so we can afford to shoot a full season (approx 10-12 ep).

Experience is great but not necessary. On the other hand, enthusiasm for the project is key. We feel good chemistry and cohesion of the cast and crew will make things flow much better and make for an overall better result.

Shooting dates haven't been set, but we expect to shoot weekends in June. Being a ~25 page script, that should be plenty of time.

Contact Jason at the 1209productions@gmail.com above if interested. Include the information regarding what position you're after and what you bring to the table. Also include a resume if applicable.

Auditions for Tin Ceiling Theatre Company

The Tin Ceiling Theatre Company is proud to announce non-equity auditions for next production, "A Clash of Swords: Two comedies involving knights, pirates, cannons, and a certain mythical lizard". The production will feature two brand new, original plays by St. Louis writers Christopher Cyr and Damian S. K. Samways.

We are looking for eight males, one female, and one pirate ship of all races over the age of eighteen for the following roles:

For "Dragon's Lair" by Christopher Cyr:

Aloicious of the Flat Lands (male) - Aloicious is the meek and mild, but very enthusiastic clerk of Sir Gawain, a knight of the round table.

Roland of Slychester (male) - Roland is an innkeeper from the village of Slychester. He is also on the verge of death.

Sir Gawain (male) - Sir Gawain is a knight of the roundtable.

Sir Lancelot (male) - Sir Lancelot is also a knight of the roundtable, and a bit of a prick to boot.

For "Blackbird White" by Damian S. K. Samways:

Ana Alvarez Cabral (female) - Slightly heavy-handed Portuguese boatswain ('bosun') struggling to impose her authority on a male-dominated ship. She is descended from the great Pedro Alvarez Cabral, and she despises all Spaniards except for Queen Isabella.

Mr. Fairweather (male) - Absent minded captain of the 'Irascible Magpie' in the midst of a midlife crisis. Ex-British Navy. Likes his eggs runny, and doesn't have a wooden leg.

Mr. Pike (male) - Master shipman. Stuck in a rut between loyalty and ambition. He wears an eye patch with the purpose of keeping one eye trained for the dark below decks and one eye trained for the daylight above. He hates wearing wet boots.

The Prince of Denmark (male) - Very quiet and sullen sort of fellow.

The Irascible Magpie (pirate ship) - The fastest ship in the fleet. Made the West Indian run in just under forty days.

All roles are non-equity. Headshots and resumes welcome, but not required. Auditions will consist of cold reading from the scripts which you can download and read at the following links:
