Open Audition for THE FLOOD - Regional Premier!

Monroe Actors Stage Company (MASC), located at 202 South Main Street, Waterloo, IL 62298, www.masctheatre.org, is excited and proud to be producing the Regional Theatre premier of a new musical, "The Flood," in September 2007. Inspired by interviews with residents of Valmeyer, IL after the Great Flood of 1993, the show has three roles suitable for high school aged/young adult performers, five adult roles; as well as chorus members and instrumentalists.

To be eligible for casting you must be available for rehearsals 3 days per week from early July through August. Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm till 10pm and on Sundays from 2pm till 5pm. We will work around minor conflicts and vacation schedules depending on the demands of the role. The last week of August and the first week of September you must be available every night for rehearsal.. Please come to auditions prepared to list any known scheduling conflicts. Show times are 7:30 on September 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 & 15 and 2:30 on September 9 & 16.

 

Auditions will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday June 17 and Monday June 18 at the Capitol Theater in Waterloo . Call back auditions will be held Tuesday June 19. Plan to attend one of the first two nights and to be available for call backs. In addition to the eight lead roles, we will need vocalists for the chorus with some solo opportunities. Chorus members will have a modified rehearsal schedule but members should plan to be available the last week of August and the first week of September.

 

Auditionees MUST:

 

be High School age or older; there are no parts for younger children.

 

prepare no more than 32 measures of an up-tempo song (pop or show tune) that shows off your vocal range and power (no Sondheim please!). Do NOT pick songs from "The Flood."

 

bring a clean, well-marked copy of your music (for piano) for the accompanist. If you do not bring music you may be asked to sing a simple song with the piano. To better understand your range and flexibility, the Musical Director may also ask for an impromptu vocalization.

ORCHESTRA MEMBERS NEEDED:

 

Separate auditions will be held for instrumentalists.

 

We are looking for a few accomplished musicians to be part of our orchestra. We need mature musicians who can read music and learn their parts on their own. Instruments required will be: flute, b-flat clarinet, bass clarinet, alto sax, oboe, French horn, drums and keyboard. The orchestra rehearsal schedule is yet to be announced. Instrumentalists will need to be available for full cast/orchestra rehearsals the last week of August and the first week of September.

Actors needed for local feature film

I am looking for actors to shoot a scene from a feature film, Our
Family, about an African-American family that has to overcome a
personal tragedy.

This shoot will be sometime in July, a weekend, to test an HD look.
There is no pay, but all actors will receive a DVD for their resumes,
eat well, and be considered for the film, which is to begin
production in St. Louis in Spring or Summer 2008. There will be at
least one day rehearsal and one to two days of shooting for the scene.

13-18 year old Actress needed

Caucasian actress between 13-18 years old to play a kidnap victim.
Shoot will take place in Brentwood this Saturday morning (June 16th.
Shooting will end by 2pm that day. ACTRESS MUST HAVE AN ADULT ESCORT
WITH HER. Actress should be female, blonde or brown hair, but black
hair is possible, petite. She will need to play scared or even cry if
possible. This is a mature role so some prior experience would be
helpful. This is a non-paying role but there will be some excellent
