Auditions for AN EMPTY PLATE AT THE CAFE DU GRAND BOEUL

Flood Stage Productions, a community theater based right over the
Blanchette Bridge in Sunny Saint Chas, is holding non-equity
auditions for "An Empty Plate at the Cafe du Grand Boeuf" by Michael
Hollinger THIS COMING SUNDAY, August 19th at 6:00 pm at St. John Hall
on the corner of 5th Street and Tompkins.

Here's a map:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?

formtype=address&addtohistory=&address=S%205th%20St%20%26%20Tompkins%
20St&city=Saint%20Charles&state=MO&zipcode=63301&country=US&geodiff=1

In 1960, wealthy newspaper magnate, Victor, is the owner and sole
customer of a Parisian Cafe - The Grand Boeuf. On this particular
day, the staff of the Grand Boeuf has gathered and eagerly awaits
"The Monsieur" and his love "The Mademoiselle". But when Victor
arrives, he arrives alone, and soon announces to the staff that he is
going to forgo the meal, and kill himself by slowly starving himself
to death.

And yes, it's a comedy!

The cast consists of 4 men and 2 women, and, with one exception, can
be played across a fairly broad age range.

The Monsieur (Victor) - 30s - 50s. Wealthy Newspaper Magnate with an
unhealthy obsession of Ernest Hemingway.
The Maitre'D (Claude) - 30s - 50s. His one purpose in life is to
serve Monsieur - much to the chagrin of his wife, Mimi. Has an
unhealthy
obsession with the waiter-in-training, Antoine.
The Waitress (Mimi) - 20s - 50s. Desperate for attention, passion,
and romance, she dreams of having the life of Jacqueline Kennedy.
The Chef (Gaston) - 20s - 50s. Proud to call himself the best chef
money can buy, he secretly obsesses over Mimi.
The Waiter-in-Training (Antoine) - early 20s. Plucked off the street
as a last minute replacement, he is hired because he knows how to
play an instrument - the tuba - poorly.
The Mademoiselle (Miss Berger) - 30s - 50s. Exactly why DID she
leave Victor at the bullfights in Madrid. She is a faded beauty -
mysterious.

This is a wonderful, sweet, funny, charming, sad show. I am very
proud that we will be presenting it to you, and certainly hope that
you can come out to make the audition.

Show dates will be October 12-14 & 19-21.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me off list at
romarichard@hotmail.com, or call me at 314-952-7840.

See you Sunday!

Teen auditions for TEAM STAGES

WHAT IS TEAM STAGES?

Team STAGES is an elite, professionally trained traveling troupe of
12 young performers representing STAGES and their sponsor, MARITZ
INC. The Team STAGES cast will perform fully staged and designed
Winter, Spring and Summer musical revues created to:

Entertain and educate both young and adult audiences about the art
form of American musical theatre
promote the image of STAGES and its sponsor(s)
showcase the talent, unlimited potential and individuality of the
Team STAGES cast members
promote role models through the Team STAGES cast members
WHO SHOULD AUDITION?

Currently STAGES ST. LOUIS is accepting resumes and photos from young
people 12-16 years of age. The Team STAGES artistic team is looking
for a wide range of personalities with a vision towards creating a
diverse, but cohesive team of 12 individuals and 4 swing/understudy
performers. Candidates will be assessed on proficiencies in dance,
voice, acting and overall stage presence. Additional talents in
acrobatics, magic, juggling, etc. will be viewed as a plus. A Junior
Team (ages 8-11) of six performers will be auditioned and cast in
early 2008.
Commitment
A Team STAGES cast member should expect to be fully committed to
achieving the highest level of professionalism, both for themselves
as an individual and for the company as a whole. A member of Team
STAGES will be expected to attend every rehearsal and every
performance and remain a member of the troupe from at least Fall 2007
through Summer 2008. Performers in Team STAGES are not viewed as
interchangeable; rather, each brings a specific and unique value to
the company that audiences will identify with personally and hold in
high esteem—a role model in the truest sense of the word. A
commitment contract will need to be signed by both a Team STAGES cast
member and a parent/guardian.
WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS?

Monetary Considerations
All professional training, as it relates to rehearsals for a Team
STAGES revue, will be provided free of charge.
Costumes will be provided and maintained by STAGES ST. LOUIS
Travel expenses to/from rehearsals and performance venues will be the
