A Call to Conscience Interactive Theater for Social Change

Live at Club Riviera, centers on the prominence of African American club owner and Civil Rights Activist Jordan W. Chambers. Spotlighting Black up-and-coming local talent, as well as national and international entertainers, Club Riviera was an oasis for black citizens despite extreme racism experienced in St. Louis’ white-owned clubs. Jordan Chambers’ savvy leadership from 1944 through 1964, developed hundreds of professional careers for black citizens in many fields, and he was known as “The Black Mayor of St. Louis.”

The following actors are needed:

One (1) African American male able to portray early 50’s: physically imposing; commanding voice; intimidating presence.

One (1) African American male able to portray early 40’s: physically imposing; gruff and occasionally crass; hot-blooded but not hot-headed.

One (1) African American male able to portray early 20’s: witty; eccentric; highly intelligent.

One (1) African American female able to portray early 20’s; jazz singer; plays piano (optional but a definite plus); intelligent; caring

One (1) African American female able to portray late 30’s; highly intelligent; extremely confident; no-nonsense but full of joy.
