A Call to Conscience needs additional actors for the June production of The Thelonious Monk Story.   Thelonious Monk was a musical genius who changed the shape of music in the 1940’s. The misdiagnosis of a mental illness and abuse of prescription drugs caused brain damage which derailed his musical career and eventually led to his death from a stroke.  The play celebrates the musical genius of Thelonious Sphere Monk and explore the pervasive misdiagnosis, the discriminatory practices toward him and the societal stigma that plagued his career and continues to carry on today.
