WHO: Female, age 30-65, Hispanic look preferred (no Spanish language skills required) to do two 4-5 minute monologues of Hispanic-American historical characters.
ABOUT THE PLAY: Aprons Away: Women’s Work on the Mother Roadis a new play about women’s lives and work on Route 66, written and directed by Route 66 author/historian Cheryl Eichar Jett. The play is performed as a series of monologues depicting historic or composite characters whose work, fame, or contribution to Route 66 took place 1900s-1960s.
PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE: Two performances: Sat. evening, June 22, and Sun. matinee, June 23, at the Eagle Performing Arts Center in Pontiac IL. You must be available Friday through Sunday, June 21 – June 23. Friday = travel and rehearsals. Saturday = rehearsals and evening performance. Sunday = matinee performance. There will be a small stipend awarded to each actor, and meals from Friday evening through Sunday lunch, plus Friday and Saturday evening lodging, will be provided by Pontiac Tourism.
REHEARSALS: Wed. & Thurs. evenings & Sun. afternoons at Edwardsville Public Library, Edwardsville IL.
