This May, The Gaslight Theater is hosting a festival of one-act plays; a weekend at the crossroads of community arts and social justice.
We are looking to cast a company of ten performers to play multiple roles over the course of the two day festival.
Pieces will be directed by Thomasina Clarke, Fannie Lebby, and Colin McLaughlin. Rehearsals begin the week of April 13th. Performances are May 9th and 10th.
If you are interested, please prepare a one minute monologue. There will also be cold readings from the scripts. EMAIL A HEADSHOT AND RESUME to firstname.lastname@example.org, and choose a time slot here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050d4babaf2da5f85-theater
Thank you for your interest in this project.
Theater has a rich tradition of advocating for social change, and can be used as a platform to speak out against injustice and lift up marginalized voices and perspectives. Playwrights from St Louis and beyond use their talents to educate, advocate, and agitate, on topics ranging from racism, poverty, and workers rights, to the injustice of our immigration system, prison reform, and LGBTQ rights.
May 9th and 10th at the Gaslight Theater, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
This festival is a co-production of A Call To Conscience and Bread & Roses Missouri.
