It’s time to carry the banner on stage with Disney’s Newsies! Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged “newsies.” When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right!

Please prepare 16-32 bars in a similar musical style to sing for the audition.

This song should be practiced and performed as if you are singing it on stage in a show.  Please remember to use your face and body to really act the song.  Just standing there and singing with little or no emotion does not show us what we need to see.
Everyone will need sheet music in the correct key.  An accompanist will be provided. Karaoke tracks will not be permitted for students 14 and older. Sheet music is strongly encouraged for all other students.
Auditions will consist of individual vocal auditions as well as a dance segment.  Please come dressed to dance.

Callbacks will be from 1-6pm.  Callback list will be emailed by 12:30pm.
