Looking for seven cast members. Four Latino and three non Latino.
Male – 40s on up in age – Mayor of small municipality who is wanting to send back immigrants to Mexico. Has a “redneck” personality.
Female – Mid 40s on up. Reporter talking to the audience about her side of the interview with the Mayor. Needs to be able to give strong monologues.
Black male in his late 40’s on up. He is a preacher who also is a landlord who is out to help illegal immigrants to find safe housing.
Latino female. 35 or older. Activist attorney who works primarily on immigration policies that are anti-immigration.
Latino female. 50s female with two kids, one is 20, male and one is 17 female. She is a teacher in the town, is attempting to get her Masters, has cancer and is in treatment during the play. Her husband was deported back to Mexico awhile back.
Latino male. 20 years old with a chip on his shoulder, a bit bitter because f his dad being deported and he is a heavy drinker.
Latino female. Innocent young lady in her mid teens who will be graduating as some point during the play’s time line.
There will be some Spanish spoken.
Payment is $50.00 per cast member for the production and rehearsals. Any additional sales over the initial 50.00 per cast member will be passed directly to the cast.
The production will be held at Kranzberg Art Center in the Black Box Theater.
