That’s right: We’re seeking a diverse cast of performers ages 6 to adult for our upcoming production of Bye Bye Birdie. ☎️🎤🎵
𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Saturday, May 9 • 3pm to 6pm | Sunday, May 10 • 2pm to 6pm

Please prepare 16 to 32 bars of music in the style of the show. (No songs from Disney movies / musicals or The Greatest Showman, please.) A pianist will be provided. Please dress appropriately to complete a movement combination.

Rehearsals will be held on Sunday Afternoons (2pm to 6pm) and Tuesday and Thursday Evenings (6:30pm to 9:30pm) beginning May 17th. Not all cast members will be called to every rehearsal and we can work around some conflicts if they are provided at the time of auditions. No conflicts will be accepted for tech week which begins July 19th.
𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀: 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟰 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝟮𝟲, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟯𝟭 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬
𝘍𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘖𝘋𝘛𝘊𝘉𝘪𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘦@𝘨𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮.
▪️ 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 (M, to play 33) – Our central character: He’s a good-hearted pushover. A Nervous Mama’s Boy, he’s President of the Almaelou Music Corporation. A true triple threat.
▪️ 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘇 (F, 25-40) – Albert’s Secretary and longtime girlfriend. Frustrated, loyal & confident. She self-identifies as Spanish. She sings several solos and must be a strong actor/dancer as well.
▪️ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗿𝗮𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗲 (M, 18-30) – A rockstar & teen heartthrob. He’s smooth, arrogant, sensual and self-obsessed. While he doesn’t have a ton of dialogue, he sings Honestly Sincere, One Last Kiss, and has solo singing in other numbers. He should be able to demonstrate the physicality of a rockstar.
▪️ 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗔𝗳𝗲𝗲 (M, 40-55) – Father of Kim & Randolph. He’s conservative, old-fashioned and controlling but loving. Has a ton of comedic moments as well as significant solo singing in Hymn for a Sunday Evening & Kids.
▪️ 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗔𝗳𝗲𝗲 (F, 40-55) – Mother of Kim & Randolph. Level headed and in control of her household while trying to uphold the 50’s ideal. Has solo singing in Hymn for a Sunday Evening & Kids.
▪️ 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 (F, 50+) – Albert’s overbearing mother who is nagging, manipulative and over the top. Sings the song A Mother Doesn’t Matter Anymore.
▪️ 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝘀𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻 (F, 20-35) – A sensational, larger than life secretary who is Mae’s choice to replace Rose. Splits are a plus. Non-Singing/Ensemble Singing Only.
▪️ 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗶𝗻 (M, 35-65) – Outspoken & pompous, he’s shocked at the effect Birdie has on his town. Non-Singing/Ensemble Singing Only.
▪️ 𝗘𝗱𝗻𝗮 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗶𝗻 (F, 35-65) – A politician’s wife who can’t resist the charms of Conrad Birdie. Comedically faints several times throughout the show. Non-Singing/Ensemble Singing Only.
▪️ 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗙. 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲 (M, 40+) – The owner of Maude’s Roadside Retreat. Non-Singing/may sing as part of the quartet.
▪️ 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 – Numerous roles with lines & solos including named and unnamed parents, shriners, reporters, policemen, Ed Sullivan Show crew members and a quartet of bar patrons.
▪️ 𝗞𝗶𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗔𝗳𝗲𝗲 (F, to play 15) – President of the Conrad Birdie Fan Club in Sweet Apple. She’s a teen who thinks she’s all grown up: eager, self-confident and rebellious. Sings How Lovely To Be A Woman, One Boy, and has solo singing in other numbers.
▪️ 𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗼 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 (M, 15-19) – Kim’s jealous yet devoted boyfriend. Straight-laced, nerdy & sincere. Ensemble Singing Only.
▪️ 𝗨𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗹𝗲 (F, to play 15) – Kim’s hyper-enthusiastic best friend and neighbor. She’s quirky, excitable and has mastered the fangirl scream. Ensemble Singing Only.
▪️ 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗶𝗻 (F, 13-19) – Kim’s friend & the Mayor’s daughter. Has solo singing in The Telephone Hour, sings backup for Kim in One Boy.
▪️ 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 (F, 13-19) – Another enthusiastic Sweet Apple teen. Has solo singing in The Telephone Hour, sings backup for Kim in One Boy.
▪️ 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 (M, 13-19) – Sweet Apple teen with a changing voice. Has solo singing in The Telephone Hour.
▪️ 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀- Numerous other teens with lines & solos such as Helen, Nancy, Margie, Penelope, Suzie, Charity, Freddie & Karl; dancers to be featured in numbers throughout the show; unnamed fan club members to appear in numerous songs/scenes.
▪️ 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗽𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗔𝗳𝗲𝗲 (M, 9-12) – Kim’s optimistic & energetic younger brother. Has solo singing in Hymn for a Sunday Evening and the Kids Reprise.
▪️ 𝗦𝗮𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 (F, 8-12) – A distraught Conrad Birdie fan, must have excellent dancing & acting ability. Non-Singing/Ensemble Singing Only.
▪️ 𝗝𝗿. 𝗙𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 (To Play 9-12) – Fans of Conrad Birdie who are old enough for the Conrad Birdie Pledge but aren’t old enough to go to the ice house. They’ll appear in several scenes with the older fan club members.
▪️ 𝗞𝗶𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 – Featured dancers for “Put on a Happy Face”; Sweet Apple kids to appear in group numbers and to be featured in “Kids Reprise”.
